Battery went from 65% (IIRC) to 24%.

Wheew. Glad I had an urge to check on her via the mobile app this morning.
I was shocked when I saw 24% for the battery level.
Kept the cabin inside nice and cool at 70* all weekend long.

I wIsh there was an alert/reminder/auto-shutoff function.

My father in law was fascinated by it and wanted me to show it to him a couple weeks ago during a trip to Gunnison. We got back home from dinner and I turned it on and left him in the back seat so he could see it. Got out after a minute or two but I totally forgot to get back in and turn it off so it stayed on all night. Luckily I was also in the 60-70% SOC range.

We picked up a few groceries (carrots for the dogs and candy for us) before going to Home Depot this past weekend. I put on pet mode to keep everything cool thinking it would be a quick in and out, but it ended up being about an hour. I don’t even think I lost 1% but the piece of mind is excellent in situations like this.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
We brought the Long Dog to dinner a few nights ago, but couldn’t get an outdoor seat so left him in the truck w/Pet Mode. 2 hours, max. Weather was in low 60s, so not exactly a scorcher, though the truck was heat-soaked after sitting in the sun earlier in the day. Truck chewed through about 2% of battery in that time.

What restaurant wouldn’t want a long dog in the dining room? I bet he is more civilized than half the humans in there!

Long Dog has a storied history of being rescued from a farm on the outskirts of Antigua, Guatemala, run by a psychotic coca farmer, by an agency in South America (I adore these people). He was sickly and weak, clearly traumatized by that a-hole farmer and other large dogs. To this day, he’s terrified of huskies and german shepherds - and people who come up on him without getting permission.

Often, we have him in his Hannibal Lechter mask - aka his “Happy Hat” - to avoid someone getting an extra-strength love bite.

A Very Tall Dog wearing a Hannibal Lechter mask in a nice restaurant generates some looks, to put it mildly. LOL

I have been doing this all summer in Texas whenever going to dinner or lunch. I just turn on petmode instead of remote turn on AC when about to leave since the Rivian takes forever to cool down in this heat.

I use "Doggo Moddo" (as we call it) all the time. Sometimes even when we bring her with us...it's nice to come back to a cool car...especially if only going to be gone about 20-30 minutes.

I believe at some low SOC (<20% I think) that dog mode will cancel and warn you to rescue your pet.

I love him even more now.

If people would just ask before trying to approach a dog they don’t know, it would make life much easier.

Actually glad to hear there’s no auto shut off on this feature for dog safety reasons.

The ideal setup would be (IMHO):

Auto-off by default, with user-adjustable time
Disable Auto off, as an option
Alert/reminder that will reminder your every X hours; again user adjustable.

I believe at some low SOC (<20% I think) that dog mode will cancel and warn you to rescue your pet.
Unless it's been updated, a Rivan story states this:
"The feature will run until the battery is completely depleted or the driver turns it off."

"If your R1 range is below 50 miles, you won’t be able to use the feature until you’ve recharged. Pet Comfort is only designed for your pets. Never leave a child unattended in the vehicle."
