Hard Drive ..... how to install a 1TB drive to capture video?

Well the title says it all .... but I'm not here to give instruction I'm here to try to figure out how to do it... step by step and hopefully this will help others...

If you have done it... please let me know where to find instructions or if possible give a step by step..

You don’t want a hard drive. You want a USB-C thumb drive, Endurance MicroSD in a USB-C adapter, or a USB-C SSD.

I searched for. HD install. External drive. Sd disk. Etc. I have the R1S. Don’t know if it’s the same manual

No worries! I didn't mean to come off like an a-hole, but realize I likely did. My bad!

Just be advised that the center console usb-c ports are at an angle which is a problem if you have a longer usb thumb drive or adapter like I had which caused a couple service calls after it stopped working due to a combination of me throwing stuff in the center console and getting snapped on the protruding adapter sticking out and the usb-c ports not being secured properly from the factory.

AFAIC, piss-poor design.

I haven't installed one yet, but I bought a Lexar 1TB (comes with an additional 64GB flash drive that is USB-C and regular USB compatible) at COSTCO SSD drive for $69.00 and it is USB-C.

It says $99.00, but in the store, it is $69.00

Can't say for certain but I'd imagine there are different versions of the manual. For example, the paper copy in the center console isn't going to have anything about any new feature added after the time of printing. Imagine it's the same for digital copies floating around on the 'net.

.02 cents, I just popped a little flash drive in mine, but I understand many people are using hard drives due to greater rewrite-ability or more storage, etc. Just depends on your needs. But that link with 24 pages ought to give you more than enough ideas for yours. ?
