I wanted to get feedback on ride quality between 20” and 22” wheel and tire combo. It will be a daily driver and will not go off road.
Would you choose a different option if you can do it over? I prefer the look of the 20” and 22” wheels, but need help deciding based on ride quality. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

I have 22s. Had a loaner for over a month with 20s. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference on road except for a minimal range hit. I’d go with which one you like best. I also didn’t think I’d go offroad but that’s exactly what I did the first 3 weekends. Fun as hell in the R1!

I have 21s, got a loaner with 20s. There was a clear difference. I could feel the slight vibration of the off-road tires on 20s. Mine has none of that. Once you notice it, its always there
20s on the other hand are a little bit smoother on the larger bumps. This is expected with the thicker sidewall. I did not push the 20s much, but that may have slightly worse cornering/braking performance.

Ideally, I would have 20s with all seasons to get the smooth ride on good roads and less harshness on bumpy roads. Both my truck and the loaner had tires around 47 psi.

wow, same here (have 22, had a loaner with 20s) and could tell a huge difference. The 20s had much softer and floatier ride quality than the 22, but the 22 like to go fast and hold onto curves better. But for ride quality? 20s for sure.

The 21" Road wheels should provide the best ride quality and range. The 20" AT had a bit of vibration for me vs my 21" road wheels. I don't believe AS tires are available for the 20" wheels. I had thought about 20" and putting on the AS but tire rack shows very few options for the R1T. I am guessing due to the weight of the vehicle.

YoI have read that AS are available on the 20” since it is a more common size.
An example is 275/60R20 Scorpion AS3+

Thank you all for sharing. I’m coming from a F150 with mud tires and want a smoother ride on bad roads in my area. I’m starting to lean towards the 22” black wheels for the look, but don’t want to regret it. It will be great to hear more experiences.
