Enduro Production line update from Frank Klein, Rivian's COO.

Key take aways

- Two years to complete the additional facility which includes the 4 production lines necessary to build them.
- Motors fully developed within Rivian by Rivians engineers
- Production came online February 3rd.
- Since production start, over 600 Enduro motors have been manufactured in house.
- Capacity will be 44 units per hour. With two shifts, results in 832+/- per day.
- Currently being installed in EDV
- Enduro is obviously more efficient than the Quad setup, but also costs less for Rivian to produce as it's being built fully in house.

Corporate credibility starts with being able to spell the name of the state where your factory is located. Sheesh.
I'm literally in the process of selling both my trucks and stock right now. Unbelievable.

These motors “cost less to produce,” but then I read, “two years to complete the additional facility which includes the 4 production lines necessary to build them.”

And I wonder if that is really true. This reminds of Tesla’s game, where they claim their stuff is really cheap to produce; it just requires a measly $10B in factory expenditures! Brilliant!

They’ve also only made 600 in two and a half months.

Apple designs their own products but contracts out manufacturing to others, squeezing them on margin periodically. That’s the best approach, IMHO. It’s not a great look if you run out of cash before your crown jewel factories are ready. Rivian will never be a volume king, and has no manufacturing experience, so I question their strategy, yes. Up next: Rivian gets into tire manufacturing!

Fisker is going with Magna and I’m really interested to see how that plays out.

It was a joke about losing corporate credibility over a typo. At least they didn't spell Normal wrong.
