Hi all. I'm completely new at this, so please forgive the ignorance.
I'm still on the list for an R1T and am getting things figured out for my future in EV. Included in this, is seeing how some regular trips we take would work out with charging stops. One of these trips is from the Front Range of CO up to middle WY. I plug all of the info into ABRP, and it shows me a couple low level charges in Cheyenne, WY. However, when I plug the same info into PlugShare, I see at least 5 more, including a level 3 that aren't showing in ABRP? I've got all of the settings correct, I think. The plug types are input correctly and I have the proprietary Tesla stations weeded out. So, is ABRP just not kept up to date, or do I have a setting wrong?

Looking at Cheyenne, WY on Plugshare specifically, I can see two locations with CCS charging, the rest are either J1772 or Nema 14-50 in the case of an RV resort. One CCS is a Chargepoint, located at a Harley Davidson, which is showing as Under Repair and the other one at Target, which is an Electrify America location, is showing as 'Coming Soon' both on Plugshare and on Electrify America's own website.

Yep, that's what I see. The Harley one is not showing up on ABRP and I'm only seeing 2 of J1772. The Harley one is showing as "under repair" on Plugshare even though a comment from yesterday says it's working great.
There's supposedly a CCS at the Air Force Base across the highway. Sometimes that shows up on a trip plan, sometimes it doesn't.
I feel like I'm doing something wrong or EV planning is a bit of a crapshoot! I realize it's middle WY, but still...

PlugShare data is crowdsourced at usually far more up to date than ABRP which relies on other databases like OpenChargeMap. Not sure if that's the case here, but it will likely take longer for new chargers to show up in ABRP. That said, the route planner in ABRP is significantly better than PlugShare, taking into account known vehicle capability as well as terrain, weather, and traffic (for premium).

I'm planning on taking I-80 East through Wyoming next month. Seems do-able, but if the EA station at Rawlins is still broken I won't have much of a fall back position.

I didn't really expect WY to have a lot of chargers. Though, my trip seems doable if I can get a CCS in Cheyenne. this is more about how to successfully plan a trip with charging. It sounds like the Rivian Nav. sucks. People on here speak highly of ABRP but it not showing multiple chargers that Plugshare shows gives me pause.
I'm a single parent and this will be my ONLY vehicle. Getting stranded with my 10 yr old would not be good. So, while I've been wanting an EV for awhile, have to have a "truck" and have been getting on all the lists, I'm really now getting down to making sure I'm not screwing myself by doing so. I understand it's an extra step and some inconvenience to roadtrip with an EV, but it'd be nice to have 1 source to get you there successfully instead of having to piece it all together with 3 different maps/ nav apps.

Chargers at the Harley dealers are barely faster than L2 charging and totally not worth incorporating into a trip. You'd be better off driving 20 mph slower between legs.

I hear you, but it might be better than 6.8 kw at all the other Cheyenne locations.

The FE Warren Air Force Base charger is showing on ABRP at 50 kw CCS but it does not show anything on Plugshare?!? Is there any other site that you can verify the existence of a station? I've googled everything I can and find 1 vague mention of it with no statistics.
How do you people do this without stressing out!??!

ABRP pulls from openchargemap, which I have contributed to quite a bit in the past. But I only contribute there when I have had personal experience with a charger. It's more and more rare for me to hit up a charger that someone else hasn't already put on that site yet, a lot of that is due to not needing to hunt for chargers any more since everywhere we go has reliable infrastructure already posted.
