Yep, like bringing in the customers who were otherwise waiting for other, potentially cheaper EVs and putting pressure on other EV manufacturers. Smart business move by a company that can afford to muscle around other manufacturers in the sector.

MY LR 7 seater good for 80k limit.

It clearly worked. All model Y in inventory are priced over $55k. There is none under the $55k cut off. I wouldn't be surprised if they discount them to $55000 just to move the inventory.

You're the second person who has stated, "leftovers" or "in inventory". You can custom order at $54,xxx right now and get it quickly......avoiding inventory.......and get it before Mid-March qualifying for the $7,500 incentives...that's the point...

True, but that was not the point.
Furthermore, getting a car from inventory is a warranty of getting the full $7500 rebate, whereas whe ordering one, it may arrive too late.

If I had not taken delivery I would cancel, lose my $100 ordering fee, and place a new order at the lower price.

I ordered on Friday, got my Vin on the weekend, and delivery is this Friday morning at my house.....MY Long Range, 7 Seater, Blue, Tow Hitch, Auto Pilot. $20K+ off (including $7500, which I use) the same car from 10 days ago.....wifes car....but it's definitely not as luxurious as her Lexus RX450H.

Picking me MYLR up tomorrow. Showed up at 8am at the local showroom the morning this price cut was announced. At that time we looked through existing inventory and found maybe 15 within 150 miles that would qualify for tax credit, now there are 0. Looking like most buyers got wise to this drop and snagged what they could. There is a chance a factory order could arrive prior to March but didn't want to risk it.

yeah it's strange that there are a lot o MY's at $55,990 which is just over the tax credit. I wonder why they just don't knock 1000 off on these.

They may drop prices again. Or Tesla knows not everyone buying qualifies for the tax credit (due to income limits) so they are hoping that some of them will just buy based on the lower price.
