Tesla just increased demand and squashed the BEV competition.

They have the demand dial down to a science. Super high demand? Turn the dial up and raise the price. A dip in sales? Turn the knob down and lower the MSRP. Tesla assembly plants can continue to run at full tilt without any layoffs.

The unapologetic pricing games they play would really tick me off had I been one of those recent purchasers. Painful to see folks over pay AND watch resale get washed away in one fell swoop.

That pricing is nuts. I’m about to sell a M3 for my R1T and luckily I have a long range which they aren’t currently producing but this isn’t helping the market. Wow.

They automatically adjust the price on your order. I had that happen right before taking delivery and it was adjusted.

I'm in the same boat. I think I'll have to end up selling my truck when the R1S shows up. I can just drive the MY for another few years.

There's no chance of that happening, since their production is greater than demand and a big reason for the price cut. They would deliver before you'd have the opportunity to cancel.

And to think just 6 months ago I could have sold my M3 for more than I paid for it….

Luckily I bought mine 2 years ago and only have $49k into it brand new I should be fine. The MY owners really get screwed. With the tax credit the next few months, one might pay $20k less than yesterday! Wow

Saw on Reddit… imagine taking delivery yesterday. You missed out on the end-of-2022 incentive directly from Tesla ($7500 off + 10k supercharger miles), paid the inflated price, and didn’t qualify for the tax credit, all by one day. No doubt it happened to someone.

I think all existing 3/Y orders in the pipeline would be adjusted to the new lower pricing.

There is usually a 2-3 day period in many states where you can return the car!
