What is the est. delivery for someone that orders a R1S (or R1T) right now?

I read dozens of threads before I made this and can’t find what the current est. delay is if we put a deposit down right now - Dec 22/Jan 23. We want an R1S but would maybe consider an R1T if the former has an extreme wait. The Rivian reservation site offers just a vague “late 2023” for both.

Also, R1S vs R1T delivering faster? Does dual vs quad and standard vs large battery pack impact delivery? Maybe even paint colors, which I’m also pretty flexible on.

I reserved in October with the same vague estimate. I’ve yet to be able to configure a truck though so I’m expecting a decent wait time.

It is hard to say. They are supposed to be updating the delivery windows sometime in the first month of the quarters moving forward. If you put in your reservation you should see it getting updated. Might be too late for the January update but would get an April update.

you will need to see the production targets for 2023, based on December rumors we have heard looks like they may be capable of north of 50k for 2023.

With interest rates going higher, markets staying pretty low and fed looking for higher unemployment to lower inflation, very possible a lot of the current reservations may be canceled or postponed so the wait could be shorter than you think. We know that people were getting R1Ts in some areas that had reservations created in 2022.

I’m also in the Midwest, if it matters. I’d literally pick it up from the factory if that speeds things up.

R1T will be quicker as that is now 12-15 months for a standard model. More have been made than the R1S which has more
If a backlog. You will be 2024 and probably late 2024 for an S at this point.

FWIW I think the resale prices on the R1T have gotten quite reasonable so if you really wanted either as soon as possible I bet you could negotiate a T in the $90k range. Probably the same for an S in the next 3-6 months but just a guess.

If you are in a hurry and money is not an issue, I would consider buying a slightly used model. Prices have come down significantly now.
