I can see this being a spicy topic today.

I’m curious since I’m already into the eight step process if they are pulling my gear as well.
Have you signed your contract? We signed ours yesterday and all of our accessories were listed and are in our purchase price. Looks like we got in right before the change.

I think we should be fighting this change because it implies that the Adventure Gear warranty is no-more.

Is it possible that this was a change in order to help accommodate federal incentives related to msrp, etc? Seems like an odd thing for Rivian to do at this stage, so I'm hoping there's a larger picture buried in there somewhere.

This seems to be a move to simplify delivery. They deliver the vehicles with tires. That's it. Then your gear comes when it comes. I imagine this is to help with Q4 deliveries.

Little stuff like this is slowly adding to what I'm calling "Rivian frustration". Stop changing things, stop doing anything other than making vehicles and putting them in driveways. Don't even hire a web developer to make the changes, put that person out there putting parts together or moving vehicles.

Just wait, pretty soon it will be just like every other car website - oh you want to add a cup holder, sorry you HAVE to include the $4600 in options because its a "package". Oh sorry, nope, you can't have black interior because you have black exterior and we aren't paring them together any more (wait, didn't they already try that with their "ocean coast will be late" nonsense. Spare tire, NOPE sorry, that's part of a $7k package, even though you only want the $341 item. I can see it coming a mile away.

As I drive past a Masserati dealership with a R1S sitting there for sale, I think - where did you go wrong Rivian.... All the while waiting for a delivery thats 9 months away at best. Honestly WTH Rivian.

My cousin was a mechanic for Maserati and I feel sorry for anyone who traded an R1 for a Maserati. If we think Rivian has build quality issues…

Yah, no interest in the Maserati. Just annoyed that a dealership, which is reselling and making $20k on the vehicles has had at least 3 Rivians so far, when thousands of us wait. Again, Rivian Frustration.



But to your point, Someone did, obviously because this one is used. Not to mention - with Navigation...... No shit geniuses, ALL of them have navigation.

Ok, that got a smile out of me. One I seriously needed.

I just wanna get in my R1S and drive away, even if I end up sitting by the side of the road with a dead battery. Navigation *eye roll*

Got the email this morning, but it's like receiving a swimsuit in the North Pole ...

My R1S is still in "Processing Estimate" coma and w/ no planned service centers or locations in the Carolinas anytime soon, I'm guessing I'll be in there for a while ..

At this pace, my "Confirmed" order will be whittled down to only the Adventure gear that I can now buy in the Shop.
?

I just spoke to CS - said I would be happy to order my adventure gear (crossbars and floor mats) today with a credit card as long as the pre-March pricing was honored. Was told I needed to wait until "early 2023" when the pre-March pricing will be reflected but that if I wanted to order now, I'd have to pay current pricing.

I think I'll wait. NBD, just want to make sure I get my crossbars as those are pretty important to me.

I had the same thought. With things going in and out of stock all the time, I'd happily order the things now so I don't have to worry about it later (of course, no spare in the shop at the moment.) I'm sure there's an under-the-hood reason they had to update in sequence like this, but man I keep getting caught in their weird gaps. Confirmed configuration, so I can't ever get the powered tonneau, and now I can't buy any of the adventure gear at the original price online.

Are you pre or post price hike? It would be interesting to take a poll to see if those of us put into the "Processing Estimate" 2025+ penalty box due to not being "near a service center" if we're all/mainly pre-price hike people.
