Thanks. And yes, it was my kid and his friends testing the camp mode and various other features. These elementary school kids knew more about the car and had so many questions than anyone else in my street !
My neighbor just got his R1T and my 9 year old sprinted down to his house after school and talked rivian with him for an hour. I caught up with the neighbor the next day and he admitted to not knowing as much as my son about his own truck. He also spotted a panel gap missed by my neighbor. Never been so proud.

Received notice to complete the buying process for my R1S about a month back. Everything went dark for a few weeks until I heard back today that my SUV was damaged during delivery and is at a body shop. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. I asked for specifics since bad body work can lead to rusting. I am also concerned about non-OEM parts if panels have to be replaced.

At what point do we have to worry about not taking delivery in 2022?
The last time I reached out (about 10 days ago) I got the standard “we’re on track to assign a guide and deliver in Oct-Dec. But with that potential lost tax credit looming, I’m starting to get anxious.

on the same boat as you, I think if we are contacted by second week of November still a possibility of a 2022 delivery, anytime after that not likely to get it this year. People are saying 6 to 8 weeks from contact to delivery.

Other possibility is a late December factory pickup for 4th qtr push which I certainly would take advantage of it offered.

With the holiday season coming up?
Second week of November contact for a 2022 delivery is super optimistic. Even if the factory is not shut down, there will be people taking time off during the holiday season.
There has not been a big push for R1S that I have seen. Its all been drip drip drip trickle.

They will probably limit the holiday vacations until end of December. They will need a December push to hit their 25k number and I am guessing they will want to try to shrink the delta between built and delivered to get the best year end numbers.

I could be wrong but if I was driving the bus this is the direction I would go to end the year. This is their first full year of production so they want to start off 2023 showing that their 2022 projections were good so the market will have a little faith in their 2023 projections.

When my VIN was assigned on Oct. 20, my Guide said the official delivery estimate was 4-6 weeks, which includes a buffer for potential transit or inspection delays. So unofficially, if all goes smoothly, delivery could happen in 3-4 weeks. I can't imagine their estimates getting any shorter as they make the fourth quarter push.

I agree. It is imperative that they hit their numbers. The question I have is will this negatively impact R1S deliveries given the fact that the R1T is in higher production volume.
One other item: aren't we supposed to be getting our updated delivery info etc this week via the configurator per Tony's email of Sep 30th? They said by the end of the month

The R1S numbers are coming up, we are seeing numbers over 1k, I think there was one report at 13xx.

I was excited about the delivery window going to our accounts until I read through Tony’s AMA on Reddit where it sounded like the windows are pretty much being what we are seeing just shown in our accounts and occasionally updated. Was kind of disappointed with that information. Hope he was under selling but we will see s00n.

This seems to be true. Two or three different CS agents confirmed that account will only reflect the current delivery window. Won't give any more granularity than what we currently know.

So PSA:
Don't get your hopes up on delivery window feature.

I don't get why it took a year to add a column on the website and populate it with a field from the database. You don't need fancy sap back end integration to the production software to give a three month window.

It is not being built for people whose window is so close to completion. Maybe for you and a lot of others that were already told their window for this year it is just a column. It’s likely going to be able to show an estimate for all existing pre-orders, even max/standard packs, dual-motor, and those that can’t configure.

Does anyone have a good estimate on R1S production rates? If they're in the 1300's for VIN's I'm assuming they're at about 1000 R1S per month now. It'd be nice to know how many LE orders were accepted. I always guessed that it was about 5000 R1S

If they are providing estimated delivery windows for people who cannot yet configure their orders it literally is the definition of a SWAG…..

What these people should be provided is a date where they are allowed to go and and setup their configurations.

Same boat as you, I called CS and also chatted with online CS several times in the past few weeks. I get standard canned answer your delivery estimate of Oct-Dec holds true and guide will be assigned soon.
