Off road better than a Jeep? This guy is hyperbole personified.
I think he means from the factory.

I’m certain it will off-road as well if not better than my stock Jeep GC Overland with Quad-r-Trac that I am replacing with an R1S.

Ah ya when I think Jeep I automatically go to something like a Wrangler Rubicon... which obviously the Rivian couldn't off-road as well. Forget about the Grand Cherokee etc.

Towards the end of his review, he mentioned that he wasn't impressed with the cameras and it made me wonder if there are blind spot cameras / monitors. Can anyone clarify?

He neglected to mention a rather big quirk: for a highly capable off roader, it has no room for a full size spare
You can put a full size spare in the same place most Jeeps have them.

Like on the rear hatch?
Yep. Will require an aftermarket purchase but let’s be serious, most R1S’ will be mall crawlers anyways so doesn’t make sense to sacrifice the additional interior storage space. Would be nice to have but serious off-roaders will pay extra for a swing away tire carrier or just throw it on the roof.

The vehicles have blind spot monitoring both in the mirrors and indicators in the driver's display. There are no blind spot "cameras" that we can use right now that place a video feed of the blindspot on the driver's display.

There are cameras, however, that cover the blind spot and could serve as blind spot cameras. We just can't use them for that purpose right now. They are within the plastic trim above the front wheel wells and they face backward toward the rear of the car. There are also cameras in the mirrors that point down.

Maybe 1 in 100 R1S owners will bother acquiring a spare. I suppose too that only 1 in 100 R1S owners will fully utilize the suspension.

The lack of a good R1 winch option is what concerns me. Both R1s can carry a couple of spares if that backup is wanted. But getting the R1 unstuck without another larger vehicle present is a problem.

The "quiet achiever" marketing from Rivian has finally … finally! … found traction in the influencer-sphere.

Hopefully the millions who watch "Quirky Doug" and "the soft-spoken multi-millionaire kid now grown adult" with no particular reason for being a superstar of social media (@mkbhd) will result in Rivian finding its apparently depleted order queues replenished with earnest buyers.

Overall this is a solid review and R1S fared very well. I wish it had more rear legroom - maybe another 2-3 inches.
Especially seeing how much room there is behind the third row, it’s gotta be 6 more inches than my Pilot has.

I like how in the video Doug said the interest was much higher in the R1S than the R1T..... Why did they prioritize building the R1T then? First to market with an EV truck?
His company has only helped resell two of the R1S vs 30 something of the R1T. Last R1T actually sold for less than what you'd pay for it if you made the reservation today.

I thought the R1S had blindside cameras for lane changes. ? Also, I saw somewhere that it has parking assist cameras to avoid curb rash.
