yeah, i was Limestone/BM for the longest time. but then i saw it in person and it was too light for me. i also had a chance to see RC in person and it blew me away. finding out OC was going to use the darker wood sold me to go with the RC/OC combo.

never had a red car before and thought it would attract too much attention but i liked RC so much and Rivians will attract attention regardless of color so pulled the trigger on it.

i am worried about the lighter color getting dirtier more quickly but never had vegan leather and from what i hear it holds up well.

You won't be disappointed by RC. It does get attention, but like you say, I think they all do.

Yes, but they disappear within the hour usually.

its definitely been less, particularly in the PNW area. i think i only saw them refresh it twice over the past couple of weeks.

wonder when then R1S shop will start? guessing not for 2-3 months until they start ramping production.

This may have already been answered earlier in the thread. If so, I apologize For missing it. How does Rivian decide which R1Ts each of you will see in your respective corners of America? Those trucks aren’t already sitting at your local service center right?

Does anyone know if that Riv Blue/20" AT Dark is in the East Coast Shop? I've been requesting access from my Guide, but haven't heard back, and that's a perfectly acceptable configuration for me... Frustrating to see something so close to my config that I'm unable to access

@COdogman unfortunately I don't think anyone has cracked the Rivian black box on this. Some trucks appear to be sitting at the factory and some at service centers (based on comments in this thread and personal experience). It is also confusing that some trucks seem to appear in multiple regional R1T shops, but we can't truly confirm it because the VINs aren't visible.

I think one assumption worth challenging is that the the configurations represent only a quantity of 1. Specifically, that these build configurations are thoughtful. It's more likely the shop is a combination of canceled orders and unpopular configurations that allow them to maximize throughput while considering supply constraints. E.g. If they just fulfilled every El Cap order and run out of gray paint, it's a pretty crappy customer experience for many and inefficient manufacturing strategy. Randomizing builds allows them to push orders out without worrying about specific configurations because someone will always eventually pick it up.

That makes sense, it's a nice configuration. Oh well, hopefully my Guide can work on access quickly. It was especially ouchy because I saw an R1T getting delivered yesterday! Made me jealous
