Still no update for me... stoked for you guys with a delivery window that's still this year. It's been great seeing folks put the R1T through its paces and ID issues and I'll be glad to see folks provide early feedback on the R1S. For those of you lucky enough to get one this year, a video of a dog jumping into/out of the back would be super helpful!

2019 orders getting 2023 deliveries???!!!! Wtf Rivian.
Any 2018 orders with same email?
Dec 2018 pre-order for an LE R1S. Was given Jul-Sept originally. But today, that was updated to First Half of 2023. So I will be waiting between 4 and 4.5 years from putting the pre-order down to delivery. Assuming they even make that 1H 2023 window. Which just seems vague. I'd honestly feel more confident in the window if they had said "Jan-Jun 2023". That seems more concrete than "First half of 2023". I realize they are the same....but feels like a placeholder...

Of course - this is because I am in Canada...

they hired the CTO from Specialized bikes
They already cut two motors to get closer to profitability, it looks like two of the wheels may be on the chopping block as well. Kidding aside I am expecting a lot of surprises with the Explore. By the time they get to it (if they ever do), balance sheet will look so bad that they will be making compromises that they are not considering right now or they have already made those compromises and will likely tell us a few days before delivery in 2025. email goes something like this:

Due to persistent supply chain issues and inflation caused by three year war with China and Russia, we will prioritize the new variant of R1S Explore equipped with a pedal and single 500 watt motor instead of original quad and a mini battery pack to help save the planet.

Stay adventurous (unless you have better options)

I received that email but only on my Adventure Pack model order. I have a separate Launch Edition model order and did not (yet) receive this email for that order.

March 1 2019 LE here... no email for me today (yet). My window remains October-December 2022. I have my doubts.

Yes. The majority of R1S reservation holders who recieved updates on 6/11 (myself included) were given an Oct-Dec 2022 window.
wonder when the other shoe will drop... but do hope those who did get Oct-Dec 2022 windows will get their vehicles. i think there are some who got Aug-Sep windows on 6/11 as well.

The problem with the faster charging options from Kia/Hyundai is that when you take off from the charger 4 minutes faster than a Rivian, then you actually have to drive/ride in it, which sucks.... :)
have you even driven them? they actually drive nice, at least the EV6 does.

Yes, there were definitely some in an earlier window but it seemed like the majority reporting here were pushed into Q4.

Sept21 R1S, no update. I’ll just be holding it until something else comes along.

iX isn’t doing it for me tho. Might replace the Range Rover with a battery version at this pace. Wife would prefer that as well im sure. I really just want it sooner so I get a better trade in price

My suspicion for awhile has been that the supply chain issues and production chaos is far worse than they’re saying or we can see. This is why they can’t be and haven’t been more transparent —investors will revolt and preorders will stall and shrink or vice versa. They’re playing the string out because they can but also because they have no choice. We’re just getting played as a result.
Oh you are sooooo correct!
Bottom-line takeaway here. Getting mad isn't going to magically make your R1S come sooner. You either continue waiting for it if you want it still, or explore non-R1S alternatives. The choice really is that simple.
I agree - because honestly there is not anything else out there that compares in performance and price. #stuck :(

Anybody else feel like this is an elaborate attempt to get us all just switch to R1Ts and go through the Shop? Whatever they can dump out the fastest? With a powered tonneau cover of course.

I disagree with this. people are just not hearing or believing what they have been saying but in no way have they downplayed the supply chain issues.

The issue is most people think they are just using it as an excuse instead of looking around at all other vehicle manufacturers as well as other industries and realize we are in uncharted waters with how bad the supply chain is right now.

Just received my update delivery email to be 1H2023 as well. Aug 2020 LE R1S preorder. Wonder if having the OC until last month makes a difference...probably not...well then, I am switching back to OC now since I might have a chance to get 800V by 2024? smh.......
