"not a car person" and wasn't sure what it meant.
What part of paint scuff ... and buff it out ... and burn through the clear coat didn't your guide understand? Oh dear.

So vehicle gets to Houston for its recalibration of cameras and an alignment...a day later is back at body shop...they tell me it needs paint correction on a gear tunnel door and front fascia...work order in app was updated (without my signing electronically, mind you) that "body shop damaged front fascia" and find that a new fascia and passenger side tow hook had to be ordered and replaced...WTF? I don't know what to think but now its at a different body shop. This is wild.... Did someone bump into it in the body shop? I mean...I don't even know anymore...

You have the loaner at least right? Pretty crazy, with all the time effort and work Rivian has put into your truck it would be a LOT easier to just have that as a demo unit/service loaner and give you a new vehicle.

Any word from your guide? Like isn't it a logical decision for them to just give you a new vehicle at this point.

I'm thinking of really pushing for it at this point....I'm trying to get details. And yes, still have the loaner but still...

I would demand pictures of the damage. If some bodyman took your truck on a joyride (Probably very tempting on an electric supertruck) and got in an accident that involves the gear tunnel and front facia I would absolutely demand to see the damage. Depending on the damage you may be owed for what was done in addition to a fix from the body shop. Maybe it is nothing but you need to make sure.

I've been tracking mileage in the app....i don't think that's the case....just the moving it around to different body shops is confusing.

6 weeks....
You have way more patience than me. After 30 days out-of-service they really need to declare the vehicle a lemon and get you a new VIN

Dude as I mentioned before at 6 weeks you are paying for something that is flawed and they clearly have no grasp in the situation on how to fix it, get a lawyer involved but before you do give a heads up to your guide and throw around the words I hate for this to have to go into a major publication such as inside evs or New York times/WSJ/Reuters on how Rivian botched my delivery etc.

Sometimes being nice about things doesn't get things rolling, you gotta respectfully be an assole about things. Im so upset for you I'll call on your behalf because F**k that noise lol.

Well, I'm getting the ball rolling....probably not involving a lawyer, but trying to summon my inner Karen. Lol. Trying to get the Houston shop to call me. I want details.

As a minimum, I would think your guide would be calling you with updates and details on what's happening (i.e. original bodyshop caused "x" damage, leaving them, going to new bodyshop and, oh, BTW, the damage was "xyz", supplying new parts "abc", etc.). It's your truck, you have the right to participate in some of these decisions.

Or...be given the option of a new truck and your original one be moved to loaner fleet (or whatever else Rivian would like to do with it...). It appears from your posts that they're trying to get you taken care of but, at some point, it gets to be a bit much.

In the meantime, I hope you have perfected your launch technique and explored the outer boundaries of R1T off-road capabilities? (jk - no need to flame)

Oh, and...the bodyshop may not respond to you or share any information if all of their interactions have been directly with Rivian. They may see Rivian as their customer not you. That would suck...

You won't believe this sh**....when it got to Houston, the detailer at the Houston service center said it was a poor job on the repaint and it is being sprayed AGAIN. I think I'm out.....this is nuts.

You are one patient buyer! I would demand a replacement, R1T's are phenomenal trucks.
