The ETA on my R1T was Oct-Dec, but I had my first guide call today and signed my PBA
@rockdogz When you got your call from Rivian, what phone number was it from?

I asked another forum member and they just said it was an 800 number. Has anyone else on the forum seen if there is a common phone number being using by Rivian for these initial guide contacts?

I generally don't answer my phone, but if the initial guide calls are coming in from the same phone number (or numbers) then I will add it to my VIP list.

It was an 888 number.

I will look back at my call log for incoming and outgoing calls to / from my guide And see if they are the same number. Whenever i get called from my guide or call the number I got from my guide, I always get a recording in the beginning saying I am being connected to my Rivian guide. It is possible it is the same number, it recognizes your telephone number, then routes to the appropriate person.

Out of the blue, I was assigned a guide today. A few hours later, I got an email asking me to confirm my R1T configuration, which I promptly did.

Given Monday’s R1 Shop email, I’m completely confused about what happens next. I’ll post here as I learn more.

FYI, you can see my configuration in my signature. I’m about 30 miles from the SC. Despite repeated requests, I was never given a chance to test drive even at last year’s First Mile close by event in Sonoma.

After Monday’s R1 Shop email, I was very frustrated and logged into CS chat to try to get a better sense of when I might get an updated delivery window. After several non-answers to what I felt were straight forward questions, the CS rep abruptly closed the chat session.

At that point, I surrendered to the idea I would not get an updated delivery window for weeks or months.

A few days later I have a guide and locked configuration. WTF?

The thing that really pisses me off is that I cancelled my Ford Lightning order, in part, because Rivian said I’d have a truck by the end of the year. I’m kicking myself for believing in them. I had a very early Lightning reservation and my dealer even told me I was 3rd in line. Ford got stupid with their packaging but I still would have bought a Lariat if I knew Rivian wasn’t going to deliver a truck to me this year.

BTW, no hate towards anyone that got their truck. I put this fiasco solely on Rivian.

I woke up this morning with a VIN and the 8 Step process open.
One thing that is nice about an OC order is that I know fully well that I will not wake up one morning to a VIN and 8 Step process :).

Not for now at least....

I’ve finished 5 of 8 steps. I’m not planning to complete the insurance and payment steps until I can schedule a delivery/pickup date.

Were you assigned a VIN? I just got mine 6/9 along with the 8 steps. 76xx, I wonder if our trucks are in transport together.
