Lack of any R1S has me concerned..... Supposedly they are in production....but no one has a delivery set....no 8-step process (that I've seen on the forums). A few guide reports about "R1S message" would be coming "soon" to "reset expectations on deliveries". I suspect the R1S is delayed. Otherwise we'd see at least *some* in this lot OR at delivery centers....

Did nobody point out the one R1S in the last picture? See the wiper blade? ...but, it has plates already, so it's not a customer delivery.

Given the parking placards my guess this is by the delivery center on-site at the factory. Maybe employee or vip.

How about an analogy. There is a shortage of strawberries. I have a field with a bunch of ripe strawberries.
Would I have a worker pick and strawberry, jump into a car and deliver it to a house. Simple, very few steps.
Or do I save a bit of money and use a complex process where strawberries are picked and put into baskets. Baskets are brought to a warehouse and sorted into cartons and packed into cases and then shipped in large trucks to stores where people can go and by them?

Not just a few bucks, it's significantly cheaper and logistically more sensible to ship new vehicles by rail in bulk, which is why pretty much every major vehicle manufacturer does it that way. It would be almost impossible to ship thousands of vehicles by long haul truck in a reliable and cost effective manner, and as someone mentioned already, investors are way more interested in production numbers than deliveries so it's not like it's hurting their stock...I don't think it's reasonable to expect Rivian to spend resources shipping every vehicle immediately by truck just to shave a couple weeks off delivery because we're impatient.

As I age, my eyes are getting worse. But, I swear that's just the back of an R1T. The silver accents on the rear are those of the R1T, not the R1S. The rear pillars are body colored, not black. I see no wiper blade. Maybe I'm losing my mind.

But look, they made a gray one and they proved it in their instagram story yesterday..... But someone upstairs got angry and they deleted the video.

This one is mine. I just know it.
Intriguing...very similar config to mine, hopefully it comes to Tennessee one way or another!

It's definitely a R1T, not a R1S. The biggest giveaway is the R1T has the license plate mounted below the tailgate, while the R1S has it mounted on the tailgate.

Can't tell if you're supporting my point or advocating for field to door strawberry delivery!

Wow I can't believe all the negativity. Getting everything up and running for any new business is not easy. Seeing that lot full of new vehicles is so encouraging to me. Give Rivian a chance they will make it happen and they will become a major player in the auto industry.

I don’t mean this to be snarky, but IG Stories only last 24hrs. That’s how they work.
