  1. Rivian still delivering 2022 MY vehicles in the R1 shop?!?

I clicked "confirm configuration" Then the VIN showed up. I am talking with my guide to see if I should just go back in the queue at this point. Lenders are saying 2022 MY is not considered "new" and rates are higher because of it.
  2. Rivian still delivering 2022 MY vehicles in the R1 shop?!?

To my surprise Rivian appears to be selling 2022 MY R1S's in the shop. That seems odd given that it's July 2023. So they are selling customer returns that needed extensive repairs as new vehicles? This R1S VIN was in the R1 shop as of yesterday: *NN003236 which means its a 2022 model year.
  3. 2023 Rivian R1S Receives IIHS Top Safety Pick+ (built after Jan 2023)

does that mean that the belt tensioner did not kick in upon impact?
  4. Rivian sales trend in CA, TX, FL over the past 6 months (Graph)

I mean, as a first-time EV convert, my biggest gripe was they were all small boring cars. Tesla solved that by making a luxury model and then an SUV. I definitely considered a Model X and Model Y, but never a Model S or 3. Sedans really aren't for people that have families and all the stuff that...
  5. Summary of Webcast w/ Rivian CFO, Including R2 News & Other Good Info

I think the reason it seems like so many people are stuck in 2024 is because the people that are upset tend to post and the people that are happy tend not to. I mean, you'd think that nobody would be buying a Rivian because 'everyone' is super pissed that there is not CarPlay based on how many...
  6. Rivian Q1 Production = 9,395 Vehicles (7,946 Delivered). Remains On Track For 50,000 Annual Production.

That's the story that they keep publishing. They say they are supply chain constrained. Yet, when the line is down (and supplies keep coming in at the same pace), they didn't seem to make up the difference in increased productivity when the line came back online. There must be a productivity...
  7. Rivian’s Normal Plant Has More Than 7400 Employees

I'm making a point about how their employee base is very large for the output they have. It definitely should not be one employee per vehicle produced.
  8. Rivian’s Normal Plant Has More Than 7400 Employees

with the Q1 production numbers out, Rivian is producing around 1 vehicle per employee at the plant every quarter. That supply chain really must be constraining Rivian. Good thing they got rid of those 12v outlets in the frunk and the main cabin to fix the supply chain issues recently.
  9. Spare tire availability in Rivian Shop?

That would make sense as to why the kit is not available readily. Tires are available, just not the kit.
  10. Confirmed by Rivian: No more frunk 12v outlet going forward

well that's good to know.... there's also the trailer hitch wiring, now that I think about it and the 12V battery leads meant for charging a dead battery we could probably jerry-rig if we had to.
  11. Confirmed by Rivian: No more frunk 12v outlet going forward

It doesn't make sense that there is no power outlet, 12V, 120V, USB-C or otherwise in the frunk. For the R1S, this means you need to have the cabin open in order to run power from the vehicle in any fashion. For a Giant battery on wheels, this seems like a strange choice for a vehicle branding...
  12. Lucid now has Wireless Apple Car Play . . . will Rivian put this on their road map?

I wish, but if they keep having demand above what they can produce, no. If Lucid had more reservations and was out building Rivian, they might be inclined to take things out of their playbook. but as it stands the only EV-only company currently producing vehicles that has CarPlay is Lucid and...
  13. New Drone Video of Normal Plant Campus - Must be $25M - $35M worth of vehicles

I mean, with vampire drain, that can't be more than 2 weeks of deliveries, or we're looking at a lot of bricked Rivians. I'll let myself out....
  14. Thousands of invites coming to R1T reservation holders to configure + take delivery in 1-4 months after order confirmation (3/10/23 News)

They haven't fully ramped R1S production. I have seen lots and lots of anecdotal evidence of recent R1T orders getting shipped before longer standing R1S orders. They have R1T parts on hand, but not R1S. I think what someone else said is correct, they are running out of price locked and...
  15. IIHS Updated Crash Test Rating of Rivian R1T (w/ Video)

Maybe the R1S C pillar or seat placement is a different design than the R1T on the interior. I'd guess that would be the case since there's the cargo area behind the C-Pillar in the R1S and different structural requirements for the SUV vs the truck. Or it could be that it wasn't tested and...
  16. 50% tint - looks great, not too dark

I usually go with 35% in the front. It's light enough for good visibility at night and and provides privacy that 50% didn't for us. Nobody wants to see me picking my nose anyway.
  17. EV Charger Risks: Home Charging Installation Risks and Advice - by Munro Live

Well, looks like even the Hubbell brand can fail. There must be a specific version of the outlet that has a higher duty cycle. I wish the video was specific about which model numbers have the higher duty cycle rating.
  18. Delivery delayed because I was price locked?

Nov 2021 preorder holder here! My window has remained static for October-December 2023. So not everyone was moved.
  19. 12 volt frunk power outlet is back! > in my just-delivered 2023 R1T (mid 18000 VIN)

well, that's promising, 3 people so far with 12V in the frunk for 2023....
