No, you're not understanding my post. If they are batching by color and wheel options then obviously it makes sense to throw in Adventure packages with LE. If they are making Blue LEs and they have black mountain blue adventures.. line em up..
You're missing the point of my post. I'm not arguing that Adventure trims shouldn't be delivered. I'm arguing that if all of the materials are secured for LE deliveries then OC should not be causing delays, but clearly this email says otherwise as someone who has an LE with OC and was told two weeks ago I'm on track for my April/May delivery.

I do not understand why you think this email suggests a delay for you what-so-ever. OC may be causing delays for Adventure preorder holders (like myself) and thus this is preemptive.

I can see how batching makes production more efficient but the supply shortage of certain parts which limited them to 25k this year still exists so they will hit that limit sooner. Unless they know they are likely to exceed the 15k R1 estimate.

Because it says OC deliveries will not start until the Fall. Full-stop.

Not "Adventure Ocean Coast."

"Ocean Coast."

Period.

LE OC orders were slated for spring/summer. Many of us already had guides which confirmed this timeline. Some even signed PBAs.

Email in to my guide to change to Black Mountain. They better let me change and not lose my spot.

If Rivian really gave me a guide contact and locked in my configuration to OC interior *just last week* just so they could delay people who picked OC to the fall . . . .

I was told I was 4-6 weeks to delivery last week, and the fact that I was picked for a guide contact was a “good sign” that OC was now going into production. This better not be some rug pull where they lock everyone who had an OC delivery locked-in to the fall (which in Rivian speak really means early 2023)

This week they probably opened the first boxes of OC dashboards and discovered they all looked like garbage. It quite reasonably will take a few months to find a new material or new supplier that can mass-produce the parts in acceptable quality.

I'm talking specifically about the lack of OC deliveries. If you have LE orders with OC interiors, and you claim you have all of the materials secured to produce the LE vehicles then that implies you have the OC materials in-hand. Clearly this delay shows that is not true.
Secured almost certainly meant the contract for the parts signed and paid for. Not that the parts were sitting in boxes in the back closet. (imagine how big that closet would have to be)

Plus wasn't it clear when they blamed the previous delays on supplier issues that they didn't have all of the parts they needed sitting boxes at the back of the factory?

I don't mean literally sitting in the factory in Normal, but I wouldn't tell people I had secured materials if they didn't physically exist somewhere.

The email is pretty clear, if you switch to BM you will keep your place in line. If you stick with OC then it is October onwards.

It could mean you saw a few copies - which we have seen on demo trucks in the past but an issue occurred with mass production( just like the Bronco hardtops) and that had caused this issue.

That's probably accurate, but it's still not truthful to say we've secured all the materials necessary to produce the LE builds.

What happened to RJ's comment that they had already secured all of the necessary materials to produce Launch Edition orders? Plenty of LE orders with OC interiors.

Disagree; in a business context the word “secured,” implies a contractual obligation exists. They have the parts under contract, not in-hand.

Okay fair. I literally sent the email to my guide before reading the full email.
