none of that is indicative of a delay. what am i missing?
In the Rivian IPO prospectus, the then current factory capacity was stated to be 150,000. There were 100,000 EDVs to b e delivered to Amazon by 2025, and 48,340 truck and suv pre-orders. Then they sent out emails to customer with delivery date estimates.
At the begging of this year, they told Wall Street they will only deliver 25,000 vehicles in 2022. There have been no updates to customers since.

but what could they do that they aren't doing? if you ask they will reiterate the guidance that everything is on track - do we want them to pinkie swear?

the way i read these posts it sounds like folks want to see movement when it's not time to see movement.
Not sure how you get that from the posts. Rivian announced a massive reduction in what they will deliver in 2022, compared to what they said in 2021. Folks just want to know how that effects their pre-orders.

That’s not quite my point, which is more that Rivian has not earned the benefit of the doubt given how many times their statements have been false.

But they could say “we are batching XYZ colors and wheels first and will switch the line over to ABC configurations on April 1 and R1Ses on 4/15, all supplies are already at our factory” or something specific like that. Instead, they’re telling CS to say “we haven’t heard of any FE delays” when guides are at the same time telling people that they don’t know when Forest Edge interiors will be built, and that they may not arrive until Q3. Both those statements can’t be true.

ETA: And their insistence that R1S deliveries have started has the ring of their claims about R1T deliveries from last year. If no forum members are getting them, they’re not being delivered to real customers yet.

Still not seeing the delay. Where's the delay?

I don't think they announced a massive reduction because i don't believe they ever committed to a delivery number for 2022. if you can find one, that would be awesome but i don't believe one exists.

If i am wrong, then i apologize. i just don't see the evidence that there is any reason to suspect we have another significant delay on our hands.

I'll have what he's drinking, please.
If screen name is any indication, my guess is Bud Dry.

It's hard to believe there was an R1S delivered ( except the first 2 ) without it being blasted on Reddit, FB, insta, or any other social media...and they just had their earning call.

I've become aware of a number of "real customer" R1T deliveries from December; not one of them hit forums or socials, and I too was surprised. I agree that we should know once deliveries start in volume, but it's very possible that some non-Internet fanatics have received their R1S...

Rivian R1T R1S R1S's are being delivered (according to Rivian customer support) BDF24C29-9ECF-4D49-949B-E219255A4413

If Rivian had delivered any R1S, then:

1) They would be shouting it from the rooftops, there wasn’t a peep of the R1S on the 3/10 earnings call, and only murky pirated photos of camo wrapped R1S’s and drone shots of parking lots

2) It would be the first time ever that Rivian would have underpromised and overdelivered

3) Rivian would have done a better job of LE R1T production and delivery

4) Rivian would have produced an R1S brochure, let alone an Owners Manual. We have seen nada, zilch, nothing on features, benefits, dimensions, updates

5) Kyle would have produced an encyclopedia of R1S videos by now

Read the IPO prospectus. For your convince: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1874178/000119312521289903/d157488ds1.htm

I’ve heard of them too but the number rounds to zero. And the deliveries were hardly ongoing.

The fact that we went from zero forum members to dozens with R1Ts in a week or two - a sudden profusion of deliveries from absolutely zero (to the forum population) immediately before tells you that they were not delivering in earnest before then, and for practical purposes may as well not have been delivering them at all.

So I will wait for a forum member to get an R1S before I trust customer service telling us they’re delivering R1Ses.

Except if you look at the poll on this forum there are 12 people with a March/April window and 2 that say earlier for the R1S delivery window.

I’m not saying things can’t slip but thinking there should a Lot of them by now just does not sound right to me.

I’ll wait for May before I start to wonder…

I'm still sticking to my original theory that they will delay the R1S to pump out as many R1Ts as they can so they get a good lead over Ford before the F150 Lightning starts deliveries.

That battle has already been won by Ford. They have 200K pre-orders for the Lightning, and stopped taking any more.

Where do we think the black R1S in the drone video is sitting anymore?

Agreed, it would be great to have new drone footage to see how things have changed.

If some R1S models have shipped then the manual should be out and Rivian should have done a video or social media spread on it. Their marketing just doesn’t seem to make the most of milestones - much like the limestone news too which just got found by an eagle eyed customer.

I've never seen it a battle between Ford and Rivian, unless you consider Mach-E vs BMW i5 a battle as well. Ford and Rivian are producing different classes of trucks and different target markets. The only thing in common is the word "truck".
