Welcome @OhhhhhhSnap !

If your order now we'll throw in a few start trek and gear guard gary memes.

Seriously though, it looks to be a great truck -- we're all just getting painful lessons in patience. (and the salt is justified)

If you're into the offroading stuff, check out youtube, there are some great videos showing what the R1T can do. Having 4 motors really sets it apart.

Here's one I enjoyed:

The sticking point here is:

Some folks who have waited 3+ years with January/February estimated delivery have been bumped to March, while the new programmer Deborah got one after being with Rivian 3 months.

Tell me, if Ford said "sorry, supply challenges, our dog ate our homework, etc etc" but then delivered a Bronco to a fella who's been there for a few months, how would you feel?

I am confident that at least two vehicles have been delivered to Non-Rivian adjacent people. I am not omniscient, so I don't know the exact number.
I'm confident that it's more than 2. I wouldn't say "A lot more", but sufficient to be more significant than 2. That we don't know about it is a case of simply they value their privacy more than the exposure. I know when I get mine, I'm not telling NONE of you $%^#&*(!@ ;)

All of this is to say that nobody around here knows anything. YMMV.

People who reserved 4 years ago are just now getting their trucks. I reserved mine and am scheduled to receive after just two years.

One might reasonably assume that they will ramp production going forward and that new order holders will receive theirs at an increasingly improving rate.

If I could waltz into a Ford dealer and get a Bronco 4 door Wildtrak in one of a handful of colors and at MSRP, or if I could place a Bronco Raptor order at MSRP and expect it before my R1S (ETA first half 2023), I’d probably do it.

But I can’t.

I somewhat wish I had placed a launch order for Bronco 1st Ed. but also suuuper glad I didn’t!

sorry to hear about your frustration OP. If you’re signing on with Rivian now, I’d keep that Bronco order and see how you feel about it when your number comes up. A fresh Rivian order is certainly late 2023 delivery, probably 2024. Pretty absurd but pandemic ruined all.

I was going to convert my Wildtrak pre order to a Bronco Raptor. Just got an email from my dealer this morning stating that they will be selling them for 25k over MSRP. I’ve never rolled my eyes so hard at an e-mail in my life. I have a March - April R1T delivery window, but have little confidence that will happen given the Jan - Feb folks have still not been contacted. So… guess I’ll just keep on waiting. February 26th will be my 3 year pre order anniversary!

Thanks guys!

I placed my reservation this weekend, and am keeping the Bronco on order as well. Might give the wife the Bronco and I'll take the R1S whenever it comes.

I feel ready for the wait. Ford has prepared me for the worst.

I tried to get a Raptor myself but Ford shut that down pretty quickly.

They are playing shenanigans with me as well. Said I would have to fulfill my Wildtrak order at MSRP, but would not have to take delivery. Then fulfill my Bronco Raptor order at MSRP with a 25k ADM. They pulled the same crap when I purchased my last Raptor. I walked away then and they eventually sold it way under MSRP, but that was before COVID and all this crazy demand.

I mean honestly, who needs a vehicle that badly to pay that ADM? Everyone needs to just starve them out, but someone gonna give in.
I can understand if dealers place the orders for their own stock and mark them up when demand outstrips supply. But, if customers order from the factory, why would the manufacturers allow them to be marked up?

Yes I know about iwantatesla. But I'm not sure that we can say he was in no way afflicted. I haven't seen the Rivian Stories interview. I'll look that up.

I'm just asking because I still think it's more accurate to say that Rivian is not currently delivering to early reservation holders even if they handed out 2-5 trucks so they could say they completed non-employee deliveries on their earnings call.
I agree. These forums provide a lot of helpful information, but much of it is speculation. I'd love for somebody to somehow prove that any of these deliveries are to people not affiliated with Rivian, but so far it hasn't been done. More and more people keep reposting this info about iwantatesla, but that doesn't substantiate the info or make it any more factual.

I'll assume they are all affiliated with Rivian until non-anonymous reports are made publicly.

They shouldn't, but they can't do a lot to stop it. This manufacturer/franchise arrangement is a problem they created and this is the other side of that coin.

There seems to be a ton of bitterness here that is misdirected.

Have you owned a Tesla? I have owned two. Good luck getting to talk to anyone from Tesla AT ALL. I can call, text, chat, email to RIvian any time I like and always get a response.

We had an issues with our first Model Y and they repurchased it from us. The price had gone up since I purchased it. They didn't care. Pound sand basically. The service manager felt bad and game me the equivalent price difference in service credits. It was the most painful vehicle experience ever. I never was allowed to talk with anyone but a local service manager.

They cant get parts - I am still waiting on PPF that they promised 6 months later.

I had issues with:
  • Audi - I have owned 3 Audi's - had one re-purchased after a nightmare
  • Mini - 2002 Mini Cooper S - terrible quality and the BMW dealership was no better - In for service in excess of 12 times in the first year.
  • Jeep - my wife's JGC started randomly stalling out as 150 miles on the ODO - they NEVER figured it out and re-purchased it.
  • Mercedes - just expensive to own
  • Dodge Durango - The dealer never figured out the fuel system. We always had problems with the capless gas system. They replaced parts, never solved it. The 8spd transmission is a lifetime lubricated device (and no one at the service bays could agree on it until they called Dodge) but the same transmission has service intervals on other makes/models?
  • Lincoln Navigators - don't get me started. Transmissions die at 100k, air suspensions die at 100k and the tech sucks.

Cars I had no issues with:
Honda - perfect
VW- Prefect (crazy right)
My Last Audi was completely reliable.

SO, Bash all you want. It is a start up. A Damn Fine one IMHO. They told you it would take time.

Apple and Samsung have screwed up massive phone launces, but you want the damn Car Play and Android Auto still?
