Early pictures showed BSM indicators in the side view mirrors. Are those still included? Or is the driver instrument screen the only place for BSM warnings, now?

wish they would "borrow" neat trick from Hyundai and Audi and include brief camera views in the driver screen of the side with BSM alerting while that approaching vehicle passes by.

Dunno if I like the sound of that. Would need to see it in person but I feel like it’d be really distracting…

Really hope this remained, it's nice not having to look anywhere other than the mirror you're already looking at for blindspot warnings.

Someone asked him that on YouTube and he confirmed that there are also indicators in the mirrors.

I thought the camera views were only displayed when you activated a turn signal? I had a Honda that had this feature on the passenger side and it was nice. Kia/Hyundai have extended the function to include the driver side turn signal, as well.

It's not distracting, imo, since you have to use the turn signal for the camera feed to come up, and at that point you should already be looking for what's in your way.

I like Hyundai/Kia version implementation a bit since It's not on the center screen.

I would rather the display showed me all the cars behind me vs. the ones if front of me that I can see. I understand the vehicle needs to know about them to do it's job but not super pertinent to the driver in my opinion. Would rather see them move the truck to the front and show me what is behind me.
What I think would be cool is a lane change indicator vs just telling me someone is in my blind spot. Would. be cool to see that as a green, yellow, red indicator to let you know its okay to change lanes vs just BSI. In theory they could even use "rate of close" info to decide what is green, yellow, or red..
Just my two cents on the implementation.

There's a semantical difference between saying something is CLEAR and not saying there is an obstruction (current behavior). I wonder if there are legal/liability concerns that would prevent or at least discourage a company from implementing the feature as you describe.

To me it seems like an obvious implementation(again just my opinion) which probably does point to some other(non-technical) issue as you rightfully note! When implementing an auto-pilot the computer has to do the math anyway but I understand auto-pilot is not here yet either.

Driver+ is looking pretty good. Might already be ahead of Ford blue cruise and GM supercruise.

Yes they are it’s on the mirrors. The level of redundancy is bananas

do keep in mind I’m coming to the r1t from a 2003 f-150 with manual doors locks and windows with an am/fm radio.

There’s not much that wouldn’t be distracting to me.
