  • Any plans to offer the bracelet via shop?
    • There are no plans to make the Key Band available in Gear Shop at this time.
That sucks.

  • Any updates (even, “it’s on the roadmap!”) for further audio services or USB audio support?
    • We’re exploring USB audio support for the future, and we’ll keep you posted if additional audio services become available in Rivian vehicles.
So no plans for Apple Music? BOOO!!!

“low use rates reported by owners”

Only used on Memorial Day, Labor Day, fall Sundays, and camping in the summer. Definitely not worth the $1 in parts. Now on the other hand, the lack of a 12V in my R1S gives off a certain air of sensibility which will raise my esteem among my peers.

That sucks.
Maybe it is worth a shot to ask for key band when you have your visit at the service center.

I had a service appointment for unrelated things and asked for key band and got one. About 175 with programming and tax. It is better than having a key card when waterproofing is important.
One thing i found of concern is that the sensor is not at the end of the door handle but in the middle.

There are youtube vidoes and official Rivian docs saying the sensor is on the edge of the door handle, but not for me.

Boo Hiss. So super slim chance my truck could have the frunk 12V, much higher likelihood that I'll have neither the frunk or dash 12V. Very high chance I won't have the Meridian system. And now we find out the claims of the wristband key getting in the shop were untrue. At least we might get USB audio at some point...that would be nice. I do hope the in-house audio at least sounds similar to the Meridian. Hoping for delivery in the next couple weeks, VIN PN0199xx.

What strikes me as odd about the removal of the frunk and under-dash 12V outlets is that they could’ve used a blanking plug in both locations and then charged something ($100 + installation?) if a customer wanted one. I find it interesting that removing these also reduces the load on the 12V system if people actually use them. If removing them also reduces the chances of getting stuck because of a 12V failure then maybe we’re better off without them until Rivian changes something with the 12V system.

At the point Tony announced the frunk outlet was being removed because of “lack of usage” wasn’t there only like 10k trucks delivered? And most of them had only owned their trucks for a matter of weeks, not months.

Nothing about that makes any sense.

Their feedback gathered appears to have been (anecdotally) only from employees, too.
