Expensive and with some significant drawbacks (8,500 lbs!), but overall it has a lot going for it. I assume it's accident that the charging port is at the left rear, but that means it will be able to connect to the SC network easier than Ford or Rivian.

Yes about the same price as the Rivian in 4 motor configuration. It’s probably better performance-wise to compare it to the 2 motor version of the Rivian that you can get in the high $70s. Still it’s not really an apples to apples comparison since the Silverado is more of a work truck. The better comparison would be the Lightning and it appears that the Chevy blows it away. If you are mostly interested in range and charging this one blows away both the Rivian and Lightning, but I’ll keep by Launch Addition R1T.

As a work truck, it's impressive though would only be interesting if one towed a lot.
Part of the reason I ended up canceling my GM truck reservations. I don't need the extra range. We could get a travel trailer but I'd much rather not, just complicates everything too much.

Surely no accident. Try getting a long wheel base vehicle front on into a charging station (unless of course its a straight drive in & back out - which most chargers are not). You need to reverse in. It's one of my pet hates about the R1T having the charge port at the front. Reversing has never been easier with so many cameras and sensors. Citizens of America, don't be afraid to try reverse parking. It's easy.

I completely agree with you, and I nearly always back in, but there are some parking lots with signs that say "head in parking only" and I hate that. Obviously not talking about charging spots, but...

What was the question?
