At 410 mile range with 142 kwh usable, that implies 2.89 miles/kwh.

The EPA sticker suggests only 2.5 miles/kwh. See attached 100 miles for 40 kwh.

If 2.5 miles/kwh and 410 mile range, this implies 164 kwh usable.

Something isn’t adding up.

Those EPA numbers are higher! Fueleconomy. Gov lists the DM large at 78 combined!

Shame on you Rivian, they totally need to just make this the large pack and just charge a tiny bit more for it and eliminate the large altogether. 10k more over the large pack for 14ish more kwhs? They should be ashamed of themselves. The large pack itself if you do the math is actually 142kwh gross, it seems like all the did was change the type of cells in the large and do nothing else.

So 15 kWh bigger than the large pack. Seems not really worth it to me, not for 6K.
It is $10,000 to go from large to max pack in the configurator. That is a lot for 15kW. What I don’t understand is that the range increases by 58 miles for the dual max pack compared to dual large - that would be close to 4 miles per additional kWh. Either battery chemistry is more power dense (and therefore expensive) or the quoted capacity is wrong.

Does this number bear on the debate over whether the Max Pack battery chemistry is much or just a little more efficient?

Won't compete with the Silverado/sierra ev range for certain. Jury is out if I'll be trading for one later. Love the R1T, but need a bit more in the towing department. Was really hoping for that summer update they promised.
They are giving the range they promised 400+ and the row update will either be imminent with the October update or next month I imagine.

Edit - just saw the 2023.38 update has tow mode changes.

I hope it's a good update. The 450 mile range plus the 350kw charging is significant for my truck "wants" in an ev.

That was the line they started toting after they said the max was going to be 180kwh and probably realized it wouldn't be possible. When it was originally announced like the article states they said it was gonna be 180, like I said in another thread I really feel for the people that were waiting for the max capacity to tow with

Well that is a pretty big disappointment as far as increasing towing range. At ~1 mpkw while towing that’s not much.
