Gen 2 Premium Sound EQ - Post Your Settings

I’ve been playing with my EQ for a solid week now and can’t seem to get this system to sound the way I want it. Some tracks sound great, some tracks sound horrible. The bass and trebles are really strong but the midrange… I don’t even know. I realize there is a lot of variation between all the different systems out there so I was hoping we could narrow it down- if you have a Gen 2 Premium Sound system and have the EQ set to your liking, I’d love to see it. Maybe between our collective data we can get an EQ setting that sounds really good.

Is gen2 premium sound quality better than gen1 elevation audio?
asking because the comparison showed less speakers and wattage in gen2.

They sound different, given the same Eq settings

Rivian Gen 2 Premium Audio is 960 watt output and 16 speakers.

Rivian Gen 1 Elevation Audio is 1,200 watt output and 17 speakers.

Does anyone have multiple streaming services where they could check the sound quality of the same song but at different quality settings? I think the digital audio compression algorithms have a lot to do with how good a song sounds. I only have Amazon Music and I haven't found a way in my R1 to select different audio quality. It appears to my ears that the default is highest quality available.

I’ll have to play with these settings. My issue is that voices sound muddy and it is very obvious it’s all coming from the center channel. In my Model Y the sound seems pretty immersive throughout, but in the R1S it just seems so directional and obvious that it is coming from the center of the dashboard, really ruins the experience.

Misery really does love company. Thank you for sharing. I've been dealing with exactly the same issues in my R1S (2025 Gen2 w/premium sound and updates installed). I've tried all the various equalizer settings shown in this thread, and then some. Makes no difference and it's not even close to my Tesla, for which I just hit play and everything sounded magnificent.

Agree. Makes my left ear feel like it’s going deaf. The bass and highs sound really good but any vocals coming out of the system just sound muddy.

Really wonder what can be done to solve this. My wife joked that we should just take our Q990C soundbar and put it in the rivian lol. Sounds infinitely better and cost less than 50% of what the Premium Audio upgrade did. At this point, I should have just saved the money on Premium Audio and gone aftermarket.

Really hope Rivian continues to improve and tweak this sound system. The speakers and power are all there it’s just not balanced correctly. Really puts a damper on what is otherwise an excellent vehicle.

I have found that if you lower your seat, recline it a bit and tilt your head a little, you can hear out of your left ear again...I kid you not. LOL
