Or possibly Large. Any color except Black, Blue, or Red. Any mileage. Would like 20” rims (am going to reshoe with 275/60R20 on road all seasons) but any size are fine. Powered tonneau desired but not required.

I've been going in circles with dealers so maybe a private seller is the way to go. I'm willing to cover out of state shipping and mobile inspection fees, seller covers Carfax report.

I purchased used and recall that the dual max didn't come up much in my searches; in fact, not many max packs in Gen 1. I filtered out slippery dealers by asking for the out-the-door cost before I showed up, and learned which were trying to add $1000s in accessories not in their listed price (PPF wrap, ceramic coatings, etc.).

I'm not trying to upsell you, but you might get a better deal on a quad large. In addition to the much larger pool, the warranty duration for Gen1 quads is the highest of any Rivian, including new quads, so you can get an extra year and an extra 25K of mileage coverage by choosing a quad large. Yep, most of us don't need the extra HP, but the quads include many more perks beyond the extra power. Best of luck; there are some screaming deals on Gen1 right now.

Ohhh, that's an interesting link.
I have two main drivers behind picking dual over quad. The first is range, the second is ride quality. This is going to be my family road tripper AND my daily driver, and I remember from a test drive years back that the quad was not a settled ride. I never compared it to a dual though; the edge in quality of the dual is based purely on hearsay.

I haven't heard of a ride difference between dual and quad, but most owners have reported that Gen2 rides better than Gen1. The range difference between the motors is pretty small, but that max battery would give you a huge boost in range.
I agree with you that performance is similarly great for road and light dirt road driving, but for serious offroading, the quad has been proven to outperform the dual by 3rd party testers. There's supposed to be a "clunk" associated with the dual-clutch engagement in conserve mode, but there are some tricks to force the dual clutch to drive in 4WD all the time. I hope you find a great deal in whatever configuration.

Thanks! I have seen those but even that $69.9k is a hair outside my budget. That's why I'm pretty limited to '23/'24. Think they can make a deal or are Rivian shop prices pretty locked in?

I believe the prices are locked in but might refresh as time goes on and it hasn't sold.

Not sure if you are still looking, but I noticed this on CL today in the SFBA. I don't know how much the max battery is worth, but it doesn't feel like an amazing deal when compared to some of the quad large R1Ts currently on sale and similar mileage, but maybe they will drop the price later.

Yeah that's definitely on the high side. That being said, I've seen prices all OVER the place.

Agreed. There is an Adventure Quad, Large pack, 57K miles, 2022 for $48K. KBB is quoting it $38-42K. All the ones around me are near 50K which is too much for me rn.
