Someone unplugged your truck?
Yeah, same thing might happen at the free chargers such as Bridgeport or the Outlet Malls. Some folks just suck.

Curious about your unplugging experience. I don't get that. I've only unplugged my home charger and one EA charger mid charge, but I've never had it complain and I've never manually stopped charging before yanking out the cable.

The only thing I do in particular is pause after unlatching the thumb bit, until I see the charge lights go off, so I know it's not providing any power when I physically pull it out.
I believe what the OP is saying is someone unplugged their charging session, on purpose, while they were hiking on the trail.

That part sucks too, but I was talking about:

Unplugging the charging cable without stopping the charging through the app or UI crashes the charging system and requires a reboot of the truck infotainment system to restart charging

Does the plug not get locked in the port when the truck is locked? I have to unlock my Tesla to remove the plug. I would be concerned someone would still the Tesla adapter if it is not locked into the port when it is being used.

I probably should have collapsed the quote to show only the part I was referring to. I do understand your concern that pulling out a charging cable before the system has time to update to "no longer charging" or whatever message it reports will cause a system crash and neccessitate a full reboot. Yeah, I agree that sucks as well.

I don't have my R1T yet, so I can't speak from that perspective. But I can say that while charging my XC90 Hybrid at a public (free) charger, that sometimes the cable would lock in place and other times it would not. When it did not is when I had the lovely experience (twice) of someone thinking it was funny to unplug me from the charger.

Not sure how it works with public chargers, but my charger plug gets locked into charging port when the vehicle is locked.

I had a very embarrassing moment my first day of ownership when I thought that I got the plug stuck in the vehicle. Fortunately, I read the manual before calling support and revealing my stupidity.

Nice write up. TY
Like OP, I have been driving Tesla S since 2013. I have Rivian and Cybertruck on order. Wonder which one will arrive first, but regardless, I am tempted to go with Rivian. Just the right size.

Are you trying to say "I love granola" or "I love green". Only asking as doesn't California allow 8 numbers/letters on personalized plates?
