Took the R1S for a Midnight Cruise around town so I could bed the brakes in real good and try out the most recent update with Apple Music over Tidal.
I am using Apple Music with Dolby Atmos now after the most recent upgrades.
Brakes are working great and glad I was able to bed them in when I took delivery last year using the below instructions from Auto Zone.
Night and day difference in Audio after the latest update.
Improved sound stage, actual bass down low that has extension and mid bass you can feel in your chest, cleaner highs and overall better audio processing thanks to Atmos.
10/10 feels like a brand new vehicle after the suspension/audio update and like I just picked it up today from taking delivery.
I’m looking for excuses to take a 5 hour road trip each way this weekend to spend time listening to music in the Rivian.
Thanks Rivian. You easily saved me from spending $3,000 (JL subwoofer+amp+battery/labor) - $15,000 (all new Focal speakers and JL amps in all locations plus custom subwoofer box with 2 - JL 12w6 audio subs) at Car Toys for upgrading the Audio system.
I am currently using Apple Music with Dolby Atmos support. Tidal will be updated in the future to support Dolby Atmos in Rivian.
I would recommend for everyone to seriously consider the premium audio upgrade offered by Rivian and pair it with Apple Music.
I am 100% sold on Apple Music with Dolby Atmos for the Rivian. The audio makes a world of a difference and helps activate / take advantage of all the speakers. Try the Apple Music songs that have Dolby Atmos support.
After trying Apple with Dolby Atmos support, I don't even mind not having Meridian if that means I can get the 2023 driver floor pan enhancement which helps improve crash test ratings.
Overall I had an awesome cruise around town and fell in love with the audio system.
I used the basic autozone instruction to bed the brakes in.

HOW TO BED BRAKES
1. PICK YOUR SPOT
Find an open stretch of road that will allow you to safely stop your vehicle multiple times.
2. SPEED UP, THEN SLOW DOWN
Accelerate to 35 MPH and apply moderate brake pressure to reduce your speed to under 5 MPH.
3. REPEAT AS NECESSARY
Repeat this process 2-3 times, accelerating back to 35 MPH and moderately braking.
4. TEST AGAIN AT 55 MPH
Next, increase speed to 50 MPH and strongly brake down to 5 MPH. You don’t want to brake strong enough to activate your ABS or lock up the tires. You should be able to come down to 5 MPH within a few seconds.
5. REPEAT AS NECESSARY
Repeat this process 4-5 times, then drive an additional 1-2 miles while very lightly braking to cool down the brakes.
Rivian Eye Candy from the shop locked on 6/9 and delivered 6/17 (2023 - VIN: 12xxx).
