Not many people are talking about Amazon. Has the Amazon order been given preference? Like all EV manufacturers, the battery supply seems to be the bottleneck. Amazon's initial order was for 100,000 vans, sure over a number of years, but will they take away battery supply from the retail customer?

Amazon vans are why the LE isn't offered with the Max Pack.

This is what I have always thought.
This is fine with me because Rivian is getting a lot more money from Amazon then me. And that Amazon money is what is helping pay for the R1T and R1S upbringing.

Looked at it on my computer. Looks like 15 charge time 54kw and 14kwh
I looked up the charger named Hope on EVGO web site, the CCS is rated at 200KW. I would assume since the vans get fast charged regularly, that they may be throttling the rates to preserve battery life.

I can see 25%, 16min, 54KW, 14.5KWh.
So, 25% is 15KWh? And 100% would be ~60KWh battery pack for these vans?
54KW is the current charge rate, 16min is the time of charging, and 14.5KWh is the amount added by the charger in 16min. 25% is the current SoC for the total battery. Without knowing the initial SoC %, you cannot deduce 60KWh battery, it is likely bigger, because the driver would not run it down to 0% before charging.

My personal estimate is that it is about 100KWh battery. 25% of that is 25KWh, if they have already added 15KWh, then the initial SoC would have been 10%.

Didn’t know the rear door of the Amazon electric vans would be blue as opposed to body-colored doors on the ICE vans. I wish they would have kept recording and asking questions of the driver, as well as just letting him talk - might have revealed more nuggets we didn’t know.
