Electruck,
Nice find on the Code and Theory page. Surprising they were able to post the statistics on page use including the preorder #'s. Alot has changed since 2019 so I'm very curious what percentage of deposits get converted to orders. One one hand I hope my Feb. 2020 preorder date moves up in queue but on the other hand I hope RJ is able to sell loads of R1's.

No, haven't really dug into it that deeply (and don't really care to at this point). But... it seems Shopify may support customer follow up by emailing links to abandoned carts so order number most likely gets generated up front. Also not particularly reasonable to assume a constant conversion rate over time as public confidence in Rivian and BEVs, charging infrastructure, etc as a whole has improved considerably since late 2018.
FYI, looks like they differentiate between abandoned carts & abandoned checkouts, the latter is where contact information was completed but the purchase was not. I can't remember exactly how the Rivian preorder was setup at the time & whether contact info was submitted prior to placing the order.

I also agree that the conversion rate likely changed over time as Rivian gained credibility (and outside investments).

Yep, @AdamL is the lowest I've seen. I have 1472 also from 11/26/18, and it was up to 2495 by 11/30/18.

I have to assume there were a number of tests, and possibly some employee orders prior to opening to the public 11/26/18.
I promise that
You beat me by 2 milliseconds...I am 1236
I'll be curious to see how and when we are contacted. you-California, me-Washington

No one has Order #1, because the ordering system started at #1000. I think the lowest I've seen on here is around #1200.
Where do you find out your order # ?

It's the number at the end of the address bar when you are looking at the vehicle configuration page while signed into your account.
Found it…thanks !! #1779

Amazon hadn't invested yet.
True, but I think he might be able to move up, given a the investment he's made. It's been known to happen... VIN? "JB1" ;)

I was at that show. I remember the Rivian booth setup right across an aisle from Ford. The reason I remember is that I went there for the Ford display that revealed the new Ranger pickup. I was so jazzed to see it. What a dip-sh!t I was... I will say the Rivian truck caught my eye and the battery platform skateboard standing up straight was very impressive.

Just wished I had ponied up the $ right there on the spot! 🤬

P.S. NO, never bought a Ranger. I bought a Toy 4Runner instead
I remember the same setup. My son and I were at the Ford exhibit , looking at the F150 and new ranger with the tent. Walked by Rivian and when the guy said they get up to 400 miles I laughed and said "right...." I remember the skateboard standing straight up. Went home and reserved that evening.

Oh wow, I just noticed my number in the address bar. #3549 My reservation date (R1T) was 12/8/2018, right after I saw it at the LA show.

As we approach June, wondering who has order #1 and where in the country are they? I searched the find your order # thread and its tough (for me at least) to sort out who is the lowest # on this forum.
Im #8205, R1S, SoCal...
I know someone who reserved 3 days before I did (12/5/2018) and his # is 6668, which doesn't make any sense. Mine is 3549 (12/8/2018). I think everyone assuming that's your order# is not accurate. He asked Rivian and they said it doesn't indicate an order.

That doesn’t make sense. I ordered in 12/7/18 and my number is 2,960.
