But...I can take delivery of a 2023, in 30-45 days, under $80k, with a 2023 tax credit of $7500, and come out a few thousand better. Seems like a no-brainer given the short wait and considering it's already been 2.5 years in the queue.

I also start to wonder, given the linked thread above, why is this vehicle a 2022 and available when someone took delivery late Dec of a 2023 R1S vin? Is this a QC reject that was remediated? Possibly. Maybe just cancelled by someone, but there appear more cons than pros to taking this specific vin (at least for me). I have little doubt that in all actual measures, the 2022 and 2023 will be indistinguishable in everyday life.

Probably, but you could always get delayed a month for whatever reason (if yours gets damaged in transit for example), so it is a gamble. Maybe a small one, but still a gamble. Bird in the hand and all that ...

Or quite possibly just one of the "714 vehicles" that according to RJ were assembled but couldn't be delivered before the end of the year because they "are currently being factory gated, including those awaiting parts, software validation, wheel alignment, upfits and charging."
