Hi all, we’ll be driving to Vancouver Canada from Seattle over the Christmas break and checking my charging options through plug share, it doesn’t seem too inspiring. Are there other apps that are used in Canada that would be better? Or is the DCFC infrastructure in Vancouver king of small? We’ll be staying in West Vancouver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don’t charge in town much since I charge at home, but my limited experience isn’t great. The few Chevron’s that have them (three on the north shore - called On the Run) are free, but are rarely reliable. A couple of Petro Canada’s around (only used one once), and a spattering of other networks. But generally not fast. If you’re able to make use of a 220V at someone’s home, it’d be worth a bottle of something as a thank you! There are also lots of L2s around, but slow. Slower than home.

Ditto... but it sounds like the charging options are limited.. (sigh).

I suggest while travelling in Canada that you download the Flo application: https://www.flo.com/flo-network/?ut...er-near-me-flo-network&utm_term=&gad_source=1

You should adjust the parameters to remove the level 2 stations and this way you will find the level 3 charging stations. Good travel Jon!

Living in Canada in Montreal, and having my second electric vehicle, I personnaly use the Circuit Electric:
https://lecircuitelectrique.com/en/
And though Flo was more appropriate in the West of Canada. But you can try both Circuit Electric and Flo To find charging stations.

BC Hydro chargers are about the fastest but they are usually 60-100kW. Chargepoint is accepted by BC Hydro chargers. Otherwise most of the thousands of chargers that the government brags about are just level 2.

Flo is a charging network. The app is how one interacts with it. If you want to charge at Canadian tire, bc hydro chargers at rest stops, and so on….that is the app you have to use.
