I've been annoyed that others that reserved about the same time as I have already ordered their R2, but I won't receive an invite until Aug-Sep....

But I noticed that on my account page it keeps offering a test drive (and if I log out and look at test drive availability, it says the service center is fully booked). The weird thing is that I already did a test drive on June 9th, the first day they offered them. After reading that others have received an updated order invite window after doing the test drive, do you think mine wasn't registered and that's why I'm further back in line than others with similar reservation windows?

I'm not waiting for a configuration that isn't offered at the moment. I'm wanting what is available now and have such a configuration saved in my favorites, and the trade-in offer I received from Rivian expires in a week.

Why would Rivian keep showing me the test drive offer if I've already done so? For those of you who have already done the test drive, do you still have a "Book a Drive" tile in your account page? Thoughts? You think if I did another test drive, it might change my invitation window?

[/QUOTE I wondered the same so opened a chat with Rivian. They verfied their record showed the date and time of my demo drive, so no, another drive won't matter.

Could this be due to the lease information people entered?

Or location? If I were Rivian I would want to spread out the vehicles around so more eyes see them on the roads.

I'm not the person you're responding to, but my 23 year old explorer is near its deathbed. I've been doing everything in my power to potentially bump myself up in the timeline. I've banned myself from going into the mountains because I don't think it will last, I get very concerned I'm going to fail to get into reverse someday soon [it can take up to 10 seconds to actually get in reverse before it jolts]. It was towed on 6/9, and broke down again the next week. My air conditioner works just barely enough that I don't feel like I'm suffocating, but I'm often having my window down for most of my drive home with smokey air and temperatures in the mid 90s. Waiting for the Rivian is effectively changing how I live my life, so it does bother me a bit, but it's not because I'm upset that others are getting them. I'm pretty happy for them. It's still hard to think like oh, having a vehicles that is on its deathbed is pretty similar to an expiring lease, and then I watch them jump to the front of the line.

My only solaces are that the smoke is ruining the summer anyhow [shoutout to the firefighters and keeping in mind people who have been forced to evacuate and lost their homes], and I have a respiratory infection right now, so I'm not doing a ton anyhow.

I've read other people with stories about how they've been in car accidents and had their vehicles totaled, and that's certainly something that is going to affect their lives too, and I wouldn't be surprised if they feel similarly.

This is rolling out just like R1 did. Invitation and Delivery windows inconsistent and rants of "You got yours before I got mine even though I pre-ordered a week before you!". Take a deep breath and relax. It's going to get even more convoluted if they open an R2 Shop like the R1 Shop.

My order window was initially predicted as Dec 2026 to Jan 2027. Somewhere around July 4, I finally set the preference that said I was interested in a Launch Edition vehicle. Yesterday, I received the email stating the order estimate is now 2-4 weeks. I won't be quite ready then because I'm pretty sure I'm waiting on the Borealis color.

If you're interested in the Launch Edition and haven't set that preference yet on your reservation, it's probably a good idea to do it.

Meh. I'm one of the earliest R1 reservations, one of the first R1 deliveries, and a minute 3 R2 reservation holder. It doesn't piss me off.
OK, pisses off some reservation holders. You gotta admit this is kinda crazy.

getting the feeling RAP1/LIDAR isn't coming til MY2028 next June.
Probably right.

So if the production line switches to RAP1/LIDAR at the end of 2026 as was previously announced

But If RAP1/LIDAR is delayed until next June, it would make sense that all Launch Editions will end in early 2027, prior to the new hardware.
Logistically it makes sense to not overlap as the production lines would get more complex. Which likely means LiDAR/RAP will not be available until March 2027 at the earliest.
My guess is LE will softly transition to Gen3 in Dec-Jan as MY27.5 and won't be in production simultaneously. Then flip to MY28 in usual summertime, perhaps to coincide w/ Standard launch.

My alt-guess is flip to MY28 gets moved earlier to winter-spring for hard cutover from LE to Gen3, perhaps to coincide w/ Premium launch.
