I received the above message from my R1T today, had not seen that before. Rivian replaced the subframe back in July which included an alignment - could it be out of alignment so soon? I've not been in any accidents or done any off roading or towing. Truck has always pulled slightly to the right and steering wheel shakes but only on certain roads (and less in sport /low compared to all purpose/ standard). Rivian had told me none of that was abnormal but now I wonder.
I put a ticket in for an appointment with rivian, earliest appointment currently is mid December.
22 qm le R1T with 16k miles.

It blows my mind how manufacturers can say that it’s normal for a car to pull to one side or to shake at highway speeds. They can go pound sand. A car should drive straight and not shake.

To be fair, all manufacturers try to pull this crap

Not sure if this will be relevant, but just in case...

I took delivery in June 2022 and then sometime in August or September of 2022, started getting a similar message. Then I had a broken window that took months to repair (but that's another story...), so I didn't schedule my SC appointment until January.

Along the way, I kept trying to activate it, and eventually I was able to, before it even went in for the alignment.

This was *pretty early* and I'm guessing that my issue got resolved somehow following an OTA update. I kept the alignment appointment anyway, and have not had issues with this since then.

But it might be worth 1) a soft reset and 2) just trying a few more times over the next few weeks to make sure you continue to get this message.

Update- brought my truck to the service center. They found (my interpretation- the actual work ticket with details below) alignment bolts on the right side had moved. They removed those and installed new and aligned the truck. Steering wheel is now perfectly centered, and highway assist works (on many more roads than it ever had for me before). I appreciate the time and effort by the techs to find and correct the problem. I had my truck back in less than 24 hours.

I had this same message last week ("Highway assist unavailable - wheel alignment needed"). I'm posting my findings in this old thread to help others who might search up this problem.

Quick Answer: Check your tire pressures for a large variation between wheels.

Details: I intentionally run my 20" ATs at 53 psi cold. My front left had a slow leak but I had not yet had it looked at. I had driven about 20 miles until I got to a Driver+ supported highway. The error popped up. I switched to the tire pressure display and my front left was at 48 psi, while the others were up to 55 psi from driving. Driver + would not engage. On a hunch, I pulled over and let air out of the other tires dropping them to 50 psi. Driver+ then worked fine. None of the pressures were low enough to trigger a pressure warning, but I'm guessing the rotational speed of the low tire was confusing the system.

So if you get this error, before you schedule a service event, check your tire pressures.

Yep. Had the first year of the BMW K1600GT and it pulled hard to the right. The middle of my shoulders were killing me from the constant counter steer pressure to keep it straight. My dealer had the regional rep visit and test ride my bike and another one that was pulling to the right (they all pulled to the right - some worse than others). Rep declared bike was fine and BMW does not recommend riding with your hands off the bars. Sold it and took a 5k bath.
