TuneIn App in Flashing Loop

The TuneIn app at times goes into this flashing loop on the screen. It continues for maybe 5 to 15 minutes and then stops. Completely random without an obvious triggering event. I’ve done all of the typical troubleshooting steps, reboots, logout/login, etc. Anyone else having this issue?

I had the same thing happen to me after the last update. I would leave it, use a different app, go back to it and that would work. I also did a soft reset. I haven't had the issue come back in several weeks

I have used TuneIn in my R1T every day for 3.5 years. Never seen anything like you describe.

TuneIn has my Rivian in random cities. The problem is that I can't listen to my local sports team because it thinks I'm out of area.

I'm in Southeast Michigan and I need this locked into my location. Not New Jersey, Chicago or South Carolina.

They identified the issue with screen flicking on the For You tab and have issued a fix to Rivian. Uncertain which Rivian update this will appear on.

Well the fix wasn't included in 2026.03 - because it's still flickering like crazy on my R1T.

It happened to me one time. Gen1 R1T. Everything was fine when I left the house. Dropped a couple of books off at the library and it started to flicker when I got back in the truck. Stopped at the grocery store. Flickering stopped when I started the truck. Hasn't happened again.

Just went back to TuneIn for baseball season. I had no issues at all.

I'm going to modify this statement I made two months ago.

Since then, I've had the flashing thing happen about 3 times on the Tune-in channel selection page. Then it goes away after a while. But it's no problem for me because I never stay on that page - I go there to select a channel, then return to the navigation screen. Or I bypass that page entirely by asking Alexa to switch channels for me.

So while it's technically a bug, it would have to be one of the lowest priority bugs on Rivian's list because everything still works and the flashing is visible/annoying only if you leave the channel selection page visible all the time. Which IMO is not something people commonly desire.

Because it has happened so rarely for me, I can't say when it started, and I also probably won't notice when it gets fixed.

For me, the flashing re-renders the show/channel icons and often in different orders, so I am unable to select what I want to listen to unless I can time it just right and get a screen press registered when the icon is in the place I press. I usually have to resort to using search or hoping Alexa can play the right thing via voice commands to Amazon Music.

This has happened to me as well. I mostly ignore it or switch screens.

On a side note, it thinks I am located in the NYC area, so I get commercials for events located there. Annoying.

I had a flashing issue last week with Spotify. It flashed randomly every few seconds. I exited and re-entered Spotify and it stopped.
