Found this thread as I am shopping for mirror extensions too. I’m going to try these as they’re decently priced and well rated. I’ve had bad luck with suction cups in general.

Just curious how these have worked out for you. I'll need a pair this summer.

I used these ones.

While the tow mirrors are of nice solid construction, they do shake. They shake because the plastic Rivian mirror housing deflect a little. I think any tow mirrors with a single arm and two clamps will be the same. I tried mounting on both the top and bottom of the Rivian mirror, and both were the same.

If you don’t want them to shake, you might want to try a set that connects in more places.

Worked great for me. Only used it on the one trip so far but didn’t notice any shaking or anything. Only issue was me running into them especially when the mirrors would auto fold 😝

What is everyone using for tow mirrors?

I never had them before but will need them for my new travel trailer..
I‘ve towed our Airstreams over 130,000 miles over the last 13 years, and tried various tow mirrors on various tow vehicles, and will say that none are as effictive as a quality continuous display rear camera, such as the Furrion rear observation system.

The R1T mirrors are actually pretty good during towing, (3800 miles with mine thus far) and any add-on mirrors would be a significant aero drag.

My biggest towing improvement wish would be radar sensors on the rear bumper of the trailer.

I couldn’t agree more. I ended up getting a rear view camera and using my iPad as a display, none of the tow mirrors I tried allowed me to get comfortable with them.

I will have to say, the truck is great at towing but the aftermarket support is severely lacking. My Lightning is a breeze with Snap On mirrors, and eventually switched to power extending tow mirrors, along with a hard wired rear camera/tpms integrated into the Ford screens. Really hope Rivian does this in the future and the aftermarket community steps up as well

I use those small stick on convex mirrors they really help see down the other lane. I used the same on my LX570 for years with no issues. Is it perfect? No, do I have to squint to see on the right side, yup. But I just become cautious and hyper aware. I won't change lanes to the left if it's sketchy and give plenty of signal time to allow people to move out of the way.

Funny when you start merging with a huge trailer people tend to get out of your way.

Besides the clip on ones listed above (that are no longer available), has anyone come up with anything?

Did you have to turn off the auto folding mirrors to avoid the mirrors hitting the truck?

I did yes. I think it was pretty close against the window if I recall so I turned it off for the trip.

Thanks... Looking at buying a 2 axle 8.5x24 Enclosed Trailer. Empty weight of 3670lbs. Max GVWR is 10k. Yes, I know this is more than a R1S can handle. I wont be towing it loaded, just to get it to my storage locker for day or 2, and then 1.5 more miles to my home.
