For those who already have their R1, I was wondering: Does the vehicle notify you that the flashlight is missing from the driver’s door when you get into the car or take it out of Park?
I’m asking because Rivian has the ability to lock the camp speaker in place, but as far as I know the flashlight can always be removed with a simple push in to release it. I could see accidentally leaving it behind or someone taking it as a souvenir. I know when I get in the car my focus usually shifts from the door handle as I grab it to the interior. I generally don’t spend a lot of time looking at the edge of the door so I don‘t know if I’d be likely to notice that it’s missing.
Can the truck even detect the absence of the flashlight to give a notice on one of the displays? If not, maybe a piece of red reflective tape on the bottom of the flashlight storage area could be positioned so that it’s covered by the docked flashlight and visible if the flashlight is removed. Maybe the bit of red in my peripheral vision while opening the door would be enough to make me realize it isn’t where it should be.
Actually, now that I think about it, does the vehicle notify you if the camp speaker is missing and you go to drive off? I don‘t think you can see the speaker from a driving position… or can you?
