I was wondering what is the time frame that it takes Rivian to send out its OTA updates to all of its vehicles. I have received upates in as short of a couple of days when they start sending it out to over two weeks. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to their system.

Happens with a lot of cars makers and OTA updates. They tend to roll them to make sure there aren’t bugs from initial feedback. And they can only push so many updates out at a time.

That's a little scary. If it takes Rivian 2 weeks+ now with about 100,000 vehicles to service, what will the roll out period be when there are a half million Rivians out there?

It’s not a linear comparison. Will probably always be close to two weeks no matter how many vehicles are on the road.

It’s standard practice with software rollouts to do it in phases so if there are issues they can stop the rollout and it didn’t affect everyone. I think in the future they will just make each phase bigger so it won’t necessarily take longer to receive your update.

Also Connect+ gives folks first shot at updates.

I just got the update last night, usually it only takes a few days. It does suck feeling like a red headed step child on Christmas day, everyone is playing with their new toys and your just sitting there.... Outside.... In the cold.... With only 2 climate zones.

Opal got her update last night also. She always seems to get her update near the end of the line. Usually this is not an issue as I like to wait and see if there are any problems. This time I was really anxious to get the update for access to her cameras from the app. This feature is going to be very important when we are camping with the Airstream. We will now be able to check out the campsite from inside the trailer.
