Although I find my personal delivery window fair and expected. I find Explore reservations in general have low priority for Rivian and we have to stick together and communicate well regarding the feature set, delivery and pricing. This thread is meant to discuss all things Explore. This is what we have so far from Reddit

Changed my Explore/Maxpack reservation to Adventure in an attempt to get an earlier delivery window than 1st half 2023. Will see if it changes when the configurator adds delivery estimate next month. If it doesn't improve the delivery timeframe, I will likely change back to Explore.
The only thing about the Adventure that I prefer is the wood trim interior- everything else included with Adventure I'd rather not have.

We still like you because we know deep down you are insignificant just like the rest of us ;)

Let us know if it worked.

I can’t blame $RIVN for focusing on the higher margin vehicles first - they need to prove self-sufficient and they have a lot of expenses as a startup. That being said, my delivery window of H1 2023 means I have more faith in a June 2023 delivery rather than January delivery. I’d be elated to be proven wrong though. I personally can’t justify spending 70k+ on a car, but that’s calculus that everyone needs to make for themselves.

Are you cancelling your reservation?

As of now, no. If my current truck dies before 2023, yes.
edit: I see my previous post may have been confusing - I meant to imply that I can’t justify changing from Explore to Adventure to get it sooner.

Is Explore/Max the Double Insignificant Club? In reality my second half 2023 date doesn't disappoint me too much. Was hoping for beginning of 2023, but not the end of the world.

Just ordered my Explore build on 12/31 - Happy New Year to me! I haven't heard anything, but suspect I'd be in the late 2023 - early 2024 crowd based on what I'm seeing here. Fortunately, that leaves more than ample time for education and prep, since this would be my first EV.

Nothing in the Adventure trim excited me, but I switched from Explore to Adventure (3 weeks ago) assuming/guessing it would get me the R1T sooner. That extra $5,500 will probably cost me a little more than $1000/month if I get the thing 5-6 months sooner. Looking forward to cursing the powered tonneau cover when it breaks and carving my initials into the wooden dashboard.

Don't count your chickens too early, Covid is not done with us ;)

You never know. If you are not a Max pack, you still may be in 1st half.

Large pack for me - with my typical travel, I couldn't justify the $10k delta for an extra 100 miles of range. I'm expecting further delays, which are ok (I'm patient), but wouldn't mind being surprised either!

Our order was placed in November of 2018 for an Explore Package R1T. My delivery date is first half of 2023. I guess that I feel that the early orders should be filled first.

You should ask for something when they call you with an offer to upgrade. People should not pay more to buy their original spot back.

Nicely said. We have always thought "first come, first served".
