When adding or swapping wheels via the infotainment system, I get the following error:
"System installed with errors"
Rivian R1T R1S Swap Wheels Error (Resolved Via Software Update) 1000002626
Rivian R1T R1S Swap Wheels Error (Resolved Via Software Update) 1000002627

I have tried rebooting the entire vehicle via the hazzard button and steering wheel button, but when I try to swap tires I get the same error.

The "Go To Updates" button just takes me to the Updates page in settings. I am on 2025.10.01

I did the same thing today trying to go from 21” to 22” sport dark, and having the same error. Called Rivian, and they are looking into it and have ticket submitted.

Drove over to Rivian service center. And trying to see if they can manually update the wheel size.

So just came back from Rivian service center. Technician couldn’t get the car to switch wheels either. They mention they had not seen it before

they identified it as likely a software issue that might have been triggered with the most recent update. And they could not easily rollback to the old update.

They created a ticket and said I may have to wait for an update.
*sigh*

I don’t want to swap the wheels, so I’ll just charge it when it’s 30% until its charged.

Great. I was going to change to my summer wheels/tires in a couple of weeks… If an update doesn't come out before then, I’ll go ahead and perform the physical change but delay switching them in the SW until an update comes out.

I have gotten the same error. Gen 1, Launch Edition R1T. I would love to hear if this is a Gen 1 issue or if others are getting it and get a feeling for how widespread.

I just had a 0.1.0.0 update pushed to my car - no description of update.

Trying to swap wheels again, and instead of an error, it’s going a system update, and now restarting.

I went ahead and changed from 20” AT to 22” brights today. When I performed the swap in the vehicle SW, it did the restart and came up just fine showing the 22’s in the screens and in the phone app along with increased range as expected.

My situation may be a little different from those of you who got the “System installed with errors” issue.

When I updated to the SW version that added this wheel swap feature, I had been running the 20” wheels for a few months but the truck thought I was running the 22’s since I didn’t like the idea of having to have the SC update the truck every time I changed wheels for the seasons. With the new SW installed, I added the 20” wheels to it and told it that’s what was on it now. Thus, both my 20” and 22” wheels were now in the SW.

So today, I just did the swap from 20” to 22” in the SW after performing the physical change and it worked fine. I don’t believe I received any intermediate SW update like some are saying they did. I’m on 2025.10.01.

Seeing same issue. Submitted a ticket via phone app. Glad a small patch seems to resolve it.

UPDATE: Mobile Service Technician stopped by yesterday to look at this and another issue and found something interesting. Evidently my key fob is so out of date software-wise that the car considers that a "System installed with errors" problem and won't let the tire swap happen. Key can't be updated for some reason so is to be replaced. I did receive the .01 patch OTA and it did not fix the problem.

Additional issues were noted with 3 of the 4 shocks during the courtesy inspection which will also be addressed under warranty (1 oil leak and 2 leaking air). I had noticed increased air compressor cycling in the last month or so. Tech also mentioned Rivian has been seeing quite a few failures of the original shocks (Monroe) and redesigned ones (Firestone) are being installed at failure. I have Gen 1 VIN 40XX if that helps.

I tried submitting a ticket via phone app for this issue and they just want to send mobile tech out. Of course, appointment is 2 months out.

Interesting. I am having the same error w/ swap tires. I never use the key fob. I have tried placing it in the car, but it doesn't show as needing any updates. That said, it does show a low battery icon on the key fob.

I was able to successfully perform the "swap tires" function after the latest software update (2025.14.01). I thought I would share as I didn't see it noted as being addressed in the release notes.
