I kind of find him annoying to be quite honest and he seems to miss a lot of details which lessons my confidence in his ratings.

To each his own.
I skim through his videos on mute with subtitles on ?
otherwise his delivery is that of a bobble head on amphetamines, can’t stand it.

edit: autocorrect had a stroke.

I couldn't have even remotely contemplated coming up with a better analogy than that.

Spot on.

Interesting you used my quote?? I was saying how I found it strange they (RIVAN) released the R1T before the R1S when they knew the R1S was way more popular although in retrospect I think different now releasing the more popular model would surely have killed the company when you look at how difficult the R1T was for them.

The quote I quoted was about Doug Demuro missing the USB-C connections in the 3rd row which I used as a launching point to point out that he misses a lot of things in his reviews which I generally find annoying.

As an owner of an R1S he is spot on about the 3rd row being a pain to unfold. Not sure how they messed that up!!!! Just take 2 seconds with a tahoe and see how they have a strap that activates the latch to pull up the 3rd row. It doesn’t necessarily even need to be a power 3rd row….

It's more adventurous the way it is

I don't see much issue. I would mostly leave the third row down for extra cargo space. When I need to use the 3rd row I would not want to unfold from the tailgate, rather it would be done as the passengers are getting in the car.

For pulling up the third row seats, my Infiniti has a lift motor but the Buick Enclave has an even more expensive and complicated option: a pull rope on each side. Rivian may not want to invest 23 cents each on these, but they work great and solve the problem — free advice and my name’s not even Munro!

This strap system is the same as a Tahoe. If you have young kids this makes a big difference. Most small people who can fit comfortably in the 3rd row would struggle to unfold the seats themselves. Being able to do it from the trunk rather than have to climb in the car is very useful IMO.

This review was so good, I had people coming out of the woodwork to congratulate me on my preorder. Doug is popular enough to move markets, and he ranked the R1S on par with the McLaren F1, the best car ever made. I would have bought Rivian stock after seeing this, except I need to save up for my monthly payments on this beast, lol.
