That turnpike is no joke. We're trying it in our Model Y this summer, so we'll see how an EV handles it.Glad I’m not the only one who noticed that. I-77 is a primary north-south highway for a lot of traffic and is 180+ miles of mountainous terrain with no level 3 charging other than Tesla (who has done.a nice job in WV).
I read that the state is supposed to use Dieselgate money to install level 3 chargers at Tamarac in Beckley and another in the Charleston area, but that article projected 2021 opening dates, so I’m not sure if these are still planned. A little ironic that WV is still in this position when WVU was responsible for the Dieselgate discovery.
PlugShare shows two single-station CCS chargers going into Charleston. Not sure what KW rating, but the fact that they're listed as CCS and not J1772 is encouraging.. One at the capitol complex and I forget the other one. Certainly not anything I consider good enough for the weary traveler.
