We wondered too.....
What the front end would look like with the headlights oriented horizontally , somewhat integrated with the light bar.
We’d give a huge thanks to one of you who knows how to create and post a rendering.
While we have no intention of giving up our t and s spots, we can’t help but seeing two Edsels every time we look at a photo or video of the front end ;()

I much prefer the horizontal orientation, not that it will make any difference on what I'll end up getting.

To my eye, it makes the R1 look faster.

Really, I don't care anymore, I just want my truck before my next birthday in May 2022 (or for Christmas).

AND I want to buy some Rivian Swag RIGHT NOW!!!!

Here too. I’d love to hear the story about why they decided to go with such an odd look someday. It seems like a poor marketing decision to me, but I’m sure they tested it.

If it’s just to be different we get it - but any reason you have to explain doesn’t work for us.
In photo school 50 years ago or at art shows I either liked something enough to hang on a wall or didn’t - when the student or artist had to explain why what they did the appeal didn’t change.
The vertical headlights stick out like two sore thumbs.
They are not a deal breaker, we will likely get used to them and we won’t buy a Ford

Old fashioned and out of style, yes. Too much retro on a modern styled vehicle, yes.

Still, I would like to see something filling out more of that space, and round would do that. To me, the racetrack design looks too small for the frontal area of the vehicle.

When asked about this in an interview R.J. said the when a Rivian came into view he wanted anyone who saw it to know that it was a Rivian he was looking at. Or something like that - memory isn't one of my long suits.
