Rivian's Trade In Offers to Acquire Tesla Customers

Thank you all for the invaluable info. If I build out my Model Y today, it would cost $53,630 with 40 miles less stated range. I have 29,000 miles on my 2020 MY in great condition. What would be a fair price as a trade-in on an R1T. Autotrader suggest $39k-$42k.

KBB says $28K-33K so my guess is about $30 grand is what Rivian would offer.

I'm currently waiting on taking delivery of my R1T, and am trading in my 2022 Model Y LR with tow package (May 2022 delivery, April 2022 build), approx. 17k miles. Looks great, all that jazz. KBB was saying anywhere between $32k and $37k, Rivian gave me $33k.

28k to 33k is the range you should expect. You'll get closer to 40k if you do private party. Just giving you another data point from a different book value

I have a 2022 MYP with 30,000 miles and they only offered $33,700. I bought it at the worst time possible when they were at their peak price and there was no tax break. I'm keeping it because a 50% loss in value in just over a year and a half doesn't make selling it worthwhile.

Rivian uses a 3rd party... So they will likely offer at or well below current wholesale value.

Now is actually a great time if your in the market for a Tesla 3 or Y. With Juniper coming one might be able to get some stellar deals on the Y.

Aside from a supply chain disruption.... What about all this unrest in the middle east. I'm waiting for oil prices to spike again and for the news media to do a 180 and start talking about how great EVs are again

I've lived long enough to see how bad the American consumers short-term memory is. When gas is cheap EVs or junk they're never going to take over blah blah blah. But when gas prices are $5 a gallon everyone's talking about how great EVs are and how they're going to be the future etc. Etc. Everybody needs to switch so they don't have to deal with these. I high gas prices. Sound familiar?

I got $28k for my trade in. 2020 with 65k miles.

I got $23,000 for my 2017 Bolt trade in with 25,000 miles and once rear ended.
