Rivian PLEASE HIDE THAT WIPER!!

Is there a rear spoiler on the R1S? My guess is a top wiper would disrupt the air flow coming down to fill the vacuum behind the vehicle and reduce efficiency. I know our van has a top wiper and after using it the dirty water that it brushed to the top runs down all over the window again. It's not a problem with our 4runner (bottom mounted wiper).

I love the design of the R1S although I and others can’t get over the exposed rear wiper. Other modern SUV’s such as Range Rover Sport, Lincoln Aviator, And Cadillac Escalade both hide the rear wiper in the upper spoiler. Additionally, Aston Martin DBX uses an aerodynamic spoiler to eliminate the need of a rear wiper blade all together. The attached photos will demonstrate possible options.

All those other vehicles actually have a rear spoiler under which to hide a wiper. The R1S doesn't have one, so I highly doubt they are going to move the wiper up AND add a spoiler to hide it.

Good point. But R1t did not have one in the first designs. May be they will add one to r1s as well ?

Ah, did not know that. Well, I'm fine with either option anyway, as long as the decision doesn't delay the rollout.

That was my thought exactly. I am also assuming it's not the touchless kind, rather its one of those huge rollers and brushes that are nothing more than sand paper scraping the shit our of your paint.

That lower wiper is bad for auto car washes. I have an MDX and it gets knocked off regularly. The upper hidden wiper is the best.

I wouldn't take any vehicle I own through an automatic car wash.

I know out here in OR the major non-touchless car wash stations throw masking tape on the rear wiper I guess in effort to prevent damage. Which is of course hilarious because I am constantly seeing people driving around with their rear wipers taped to the window.
