Should we talk about the R?S picture in this patent:

Its super interesting that the headlights are smaller here than the R1T? I'd have thought nothing of it, but the timing of the R2S launch and the front end of this very different to the R1T in the same application makes me excited!

My gut feeling is this is the R2....why else have this drawing in existence. And it clearly has some elements different from R1. Nice catch!

Not sure I'd read into it too much, the "R1T" in the patents has no door handles.

I still feel the major proportions show us something we haven't seen. Also collaborates pretty well with the vehicle shown with RJ and Jeff Hammoud under a cover.

I agree some details are missing, but the proportions say this is something different.

Weather sealed external power sources or data connection port would also be awesome if it allowed for mounting a Starlink system on the roof.

I wonder if this tweak will be a part of the R1 refresh in Q2

Shame they did not do this from the get-go. I could really use a super bright light bar to help lost drivers find their heads... /s

It would be cool if they could pass power through the mount itself and then through the T channel—eliminating need for wires. But weather proofing would be a challenge. Maybe light units with wireless remote switching, built-in internal packs and solar trickle charge?

That’s the intended plan as the new “tree top” RTT they are showcasing with the R2 is powered (ventilation and heating, lighting, charging, and movie projector) that way - via the connections in the roof mounts on the R2.
