I really miss my Volvo's 360 image versus the Rivian's. It's so zoomed in, it's not as useful. This could be achieved with a software update. Hoping they can make this happen in a future update.

I scaled the images to match the size of the car image.

I personally don't feel it's an issue. The overhead view is really only useful for making sure there is nothing in your immediate vicinity anyways.

They should make it so I can see the entire parking lot. No more hunting for spaces!

I haven’t experienced a need for wider camera visibility?

Model Year 2024 is going to include an autonomous parking drone that self deploys from the frunk for a perfect top view.

I'm happy with the overhead view. That coupled with a front or back camera view, mirrors, windows, gives me a good idea of my surroundings. That being said, the cameras are only adequate for capturing good detail in certain situations... mostly parking lot speed type stuff.

I captured some bad behavior from a truck driving in front of me a couple days ago. At highway speeds, none of the detail (the truck was covered with graphics on the back and everywhere) was discernible. I wasn't able to capture a single license plate from passing cars either.

Maybe It's too much to ask that the cameras are true "dash cams" but I imagine the R2 will do better.

I'm perfectly happy with the overhead view. What I really miss about my Volvo is the much wider angle of the backup camera which allowed me to see vehicles coming from much further away (to the sides). The Rivian's backup camera doesn't allow nearly enough advanced warning of cross traffic when backing out of parking spaces so, unlike with the Volvo, I can't rely exclusively on the camera. I've adjusted but it's definitely a feature of the Volvo that I miss.

I used the 360 on my Volvo for backing up exclusively because of the wide angle. The 360 on the Rivian gives very little warning that something is there, especially backing out of busy parking lots. The collision warning goes off way before I see anything on the camera.

Yeah, I never used the Volvo's 360 for backing up (or at all really), I preferred the rear view for that. But yes, the Rivian cams offer very little advance warning. I am more likely to use the Rivian's 360 when parking where I'm really only concerned about adjacent parking spaces, curbs, etc and not vehicles speeding through the parking lot so the narrower FOV there doesn't bother me.
