I truly believing that if Rivian came out with a round headlight similar to the Jeep Wrangler they would have pulled a lot more customers. Everyone I talk to love the truck except for the headlights. I feel the same. Rivian please change them. If you do I will sell my Tesla and buy a Rivian.
I love the headlights.

Actually I am shocked by the response. I am just saying what the common issue people have about the r1t. They always mention the headlights. I am not rying to bag on Rivian. I own Rivian stock. I hope they out sell Tesla. Geez. Lol
I’ve received multiple comments from people who tell me they love the headlights. Never had someone tell me they hate them. Positive comments came from women, who are key decision makers in most vehicle purchases.

When I first started looking at R1S I just hated the headlights. A close friend said they grow on you. He was right. I love them now. They are unique and looking at them connects me to everything I love about the brand, the vehicle, the community, and the company mission.

I like the headlight design. If you look while driving for Rivians you will notice that a lot of headlights these days on both trucks & cars have adopted a more rectangular shape. I am always looking as there are not many Rivians in Southern Utah.

I never hated the headlight design… but it did take time to adjust to a new design language. If OP doesn't appreciate the headlights… Then it’s a simple solution, DONT buy one.

@OP…. Sure, you can wish and hope for a different looking design, but you knew what you were doing by posting your salty opinions in this forum… Some part of you wanted to poke the bears… don't feign surprise when the bears show their teeth a little.

I really love the current headlights. I think that so many other car companies’ headlights blah and not unique. Rivian’s are instantly recognizable. I believe that any good car design will push the limits and the really good ones will change people’s definition of beauty. Give it time.

To be fair… I’ve always had issues with the front end of Teslas that look like rubber ducks.

How am I to recognize another Rivian coming head on a 2 lane road? I have always had a welcoming hand shake as we pass. Don't take that away. Make a nondescript front end as an option at Normal. Charge more and then we won't notice you because you will blend it with blah, blah, blah......

Gotta admit, I did see a rendering of an R1T, with horizontal lights, integrated in the light bar. …rather liked it.

Nah. Most people spend more time IN it looking out, rather than OUT OF IT, looking AT it!

The way to make a name for yourself as a new company isn’t to copy someone else’s design language. Rivianā€˜s headlights are unique to their brand.
Agree, it's also an inexpensive way to be unique by using square, oval, triangle or whatever shape headlights. With 90% of all other headlights having a angry look (I guess people want others to think they're angry) it's a breath of fresh air. Hopefully Rivian keeps it as their unique signature and doesn't cave to the angry look crowd.

They could add a warmer but that only solves the issue of ice and snow building up. I think many manufacturers go with washers because they do that AND help with dirt, bugs, etc., no matter what the temperature is. I’m pretty sure I remember reading that washers are required in the EU so implementing headlight washers isn’t all that unusual.
The washer would probably be simplest solution.
