@TexasBob Thanks for sharing. EX60 was very high on my list. I liked a lot of what I was seeing, but:

The Europeans are being told P12 is more than a year away. Once the US site allows Americans to order and get in line, it would seem that would be at the back of the line to be even longer.

They don't even show the Heather Bronze color we would choose that the Europeans can order now (and wait for).

They force 21" wheels with Ultra

I wound up in the same place as @mellowthecat with an iX3 order for Fall delivery.

P10 AWD seems to be direct comparison to R2 Prem. Interior and paint no additional cost on EX60. 400kw DC peak speeds is very tempting.

Ok so to be fair here...the trim most similar to R2 Premium is somewhere between P10 AWD Plus and Ultra. R2 has a lot of the features included that are NOT on the Plus and only on the Ultra. Ultra likely has better sound system and has electrochromic panoramic roof though.

My guess is discounts will be a lot easier to get on Volvo than the R2.

Leasing for 36/39 months at this point in history makes a lot of sense as by ~2030, we should start to see solid state batteries from a few OEMs and that effect will deteriorate the resale of the "old tech" vehicles now being sold.

They pulled a reserve Rivian. Come out with the cheaper model first and save the more expensive one for later. I think the P12 was the real headliner here with the 400 miles of range though so funny how that works out.

If gas prices stay where they are, it will have some moderate success. A different flavor than the R2 and iX3 but I can totally get someone going down this route, specially with those charging speeds. Kudos, Volvo. Kudos.

I am generally not a Volvo fan (have never owned one) but I genuinely like this car. I like the interior and the exterior especially in the Forest Lake + Dawn. I am sorely tempted. Thankfully, Volvo is putting off the P12 and the Cross Country until next year (thank you Volvo!) so my decision is much easier to just wait and see. And tbh, the single Orin autonomy system is probably a deal killer for me. I am just not buying into another Gen 1 R1 hobbled ADAS. But I really love the car.
