Red Canyon and Limestone Colors Gone for 2026?

Interesting point, but doesn't sound like it. I talked to a Rivian person at a local showroom yesterday and it sounds like those colors are dead as far as they're aware. Doesn't mean we won't see anything new as far as the R2 is concerned, but the red canyon and limestone as we know it are currently dead in the water.

We've already seen the new colors for R2 on the demo vehicle: a new white and a new gray.

Let's not cut them credit where its due here. It was clearly a new silver, very much different from a new gray.

Red Canyon was our first choice for our R1T,, but for various reasons, we went our second choice, Limestone. No regrets and we love the way it subtlely changes shade depending on the light. Don't see a lot of the Limestone on the roads in this neck of the woods, and I guess that won't change now.

The R1T gets lots of parking lot compliments from non-Rivian owners. Typical parking lot conversation: "Very nice looking truck - great color! Who makes it? [Rivian, they are a newer company with a factory in Illinois] No, I mean who actually makes it - Ford? GM?"

Rivian should be giving customers a discount on Yellow/Red/Blue thanks to all the free advertising, instead they were charging more for those colors and now eliminating them.

I've also received "Are they Chinese?"

Have we received any official wording on this? Don't see them on the configurator on the Rivian website.

If this is the case, not to be dramatic, but a bit devasted. Probably the two best colors, IMO.

Well, in a bit of defense, OP did say "a bit" so it's not total devastation.

Just being dramatic. Obviously much worse things happening in the world. Just really liked the canyon red color, and red cars in general. If Mazda ever got rid of their soul red, there would audible sobs across the industry. Red Canyon didn't even get a chance to become iconic

Not surprised about the red, but the removal of Limestone is surprising. I personally love every color that Rivian has offered to date, including Compass Yellow and Cali Dune. Even with these two gone, the choices are still pretty good for a production vehicle. There are only six total colors for the Model Y, for example, and only five for previous years.

Lame. Soon we'll be down to "black, white, six shades of gray, and maybe one other color" like every other manufacturer.

Hate to tell you, but that's exactly where we're at with Rivian now. Grayscale and Rivian Blue. (I don't count forest green as a standout color, it's so dark it's effectively gray)

I'm also annoyed because the bold colors are not as popular as they could be because they're stupid expensive..

I love my forest green, but it does look very dark in certain shade. At night is effectively black. At various drive thru places my receipt had "gray Rivian SUV" on it and honestly can't blame them. In the shade it can easily look gray or black.
